Key Points

Greer’s Mizuki Blue uses two JFET gain stages to replicate Tube-Amp-like textures. Controls: Volume, Gain, Tone. The simple three-knob layout suits jazz, country, classic and hard rock.

It stacks with other drives to add depth, complexity and harmonic richness. It’s at that $199 price point as usual and is Sold Out on the Greer Webstore; Andertons quotes stock due 21st November. As of 21st November, the price was £199.

Greer hasn’t specified which amp or tube it targets or benchmark sources. For electrical safety or modifying a pedal, consult a qualified tech.

JFETs are often used in amp-replication - where each JFET represents a Tube Gain Stage. A number of pedal brands - like for instance Venezuela’s PedalPal have developed reputations for mastering the JFET format - particularly in the area of Marshall Amp emulation. And a few have made their own JFET’s honed to that specific purpose!

"The simple three-knob layout makes it easy to dial in tones for everything from jazz and country to classic and hard rock. It stacks beautifully with other drives, adding depth, complexity, and harmonic richness to your sound."

So it seems a particular purpose here is to stack with other gain pedals - to add saturation and harmonics - while it doesn’t say anywhere exactly which amp or tube variety it’s set to replicate as a default!

Controls - Volume, Gain, Tone.

Greer very much sepializes in 3-knob overdrives - and I have a number of those - or 9 in total. I think this will likely be my 10th. While I would have liked to know more about its origins and provenance. And what benchmarks it was tuned from or targeted at even.

This is very typically a Greer pedal - and it’s at that $199 price point as usual - currently Sold Out on the Greer Webstore, but should be available at certain dealers - while it doesn’t seem to have reached the UK yet - or has sold out very quickly - Andertons is quoting that stock is due for 21st November - so more than a month away. Which actually suits me fine - as I’m way overcommitted for this month already! And also - a number of paid for pedals - aren’t arriving until next month!
