This uses the same DSP engine as Alexander’s other Leap Series pedals, while it looks quite different. It’s a really cool detour from Alexander’s usual fare - and delivers a shimmery detune style chorus underlaid by an ambient medium Hall Reverb.

As mentioned - it was originally made for the Midwest Pedalfest, so I guess we’re talking about remaining stock here really - which didn’t sell through at the fest!

In the visual you can see the Three Versions of the Syntax Error. The Original compact came out during Summer NAMM back in 2017. I did a number of features that included that pedal - and it was a target for me for the longest time - but for whatever reason - I never quite managed to acquire one of those.

Then in 2021 we got the larger V2 edition with Screen - which I considered a little large for my need - for such a niche pedal.

And now in 2026 Alexander has finally delivered the perfect ...

So this is a really interesting experiment by Alexander Pedals in channelling Modulated Reverb elements into a sort of synthesizer format. Synthesizers are mostly composed of Oscillators and Filters - where Alexander has deployed Modulated Reverb to similar ends.

You get really interesting Ghostly Synthy Reverb Textures - rendered in stereo - for an exceedingly ethereal sci-fi kind of experience!

So I initially published an article on February 20th - where I gathered together 9 pedals which all had the same Hot Pink Colourway. It was originally inspired by the launch of Great Easter FX Co’s Obsolete Devices OD201 Preamp - so the article was a nod to that.

At the time of posting I had 2 of those in my possession - I guess you could say 3 - as I owned the Lightspeed too already - but not in that colourway - as you will have noted in subsequent references.

This post was inspired by the recent Great Eastern FX Co OC201 Preamp and latest James Dean Bradfield TPS Episode - which featured the MXR Fat Sugar. Those 2 Hot Pink Pedals kind of set the scene / tone for this - and I thought I would do a tribute to my Guitar Nerds Podcast Friends - Joe and Matt - who favour this particular hue of pedals. Would be interesting to know how many of these they have to date!

Readers of this site will know that I’ve long admired the extraordinary sound-design talents of Cohen Hartman - who’s best known through his SpiralCaster Plays Pedals YouTube Channel. In my opinion he is one of the very finest pedal demo artists there ever was. He has a way of teasing out some truly unique tones and textures from most pedals - and taking them places where others just don’t or can’t seem to venture.

And so we have a rather intriguing new pedal from Alexander Pedals - which looks like something you would typically be more likely to see coming out from Old Blood Noise Endeavors!

This new Forget Me Not Digital 4-Head Tape Delay is quite different from Alexander’s current models - which typically come with a handy mini screen. On this occasion though we have a much more traditional pedal - with no screen, and no hidden or secondary functions - everything is fully surfaces on this new pedal...

The Modutility roundup combines Modulation, Utility and Pitch type pedals - it also includes Multi-FX and Multi-Modulation pedals of course. Some years this selection is relatively sparse - while this year it’s totally chock-a-block! In fact it was a struggle to whittle the Longlist down - and inevitably some pedals I wanted to feature did not make the cut - including the Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal Multi-FX and Subdecay Prometheus 3 Dual Super Filter.

It’s somewhat interesting that with every new Leap Series release we’re getting diminishing returns on the pedal graphics. Where the #1 Space Force looked great, the Rewind was still kind of on point, and the Luminous Phase-shifter cooly wavy and glowing - for the Dynaflanger we get a tiny 4 bar strip of colour - what!
