NOTE that these were originally supposed to be in stock last week - on the 20th, then today on the 26th - but are still not in stock somehow - I’ve no idea what’s going on here - this article has been ready for over a week now - and frankly I have other things to be getting on with - so I’m just making it live now (with a change to the title) and moving on with other projects.

Andertons has been somewhat unusually lax of late with its ’coming into stock’ notices - I’ve pre-ordered several pedals...

Back in August of last year Thorpy and Andertons collaborated on a vintage-inspired Anniversary pedal in an Andertons Sparkle Blue Enclosure - which was a limited run of only 200 pedals - and only available direct from Andertons.

The Tremolo side was designed by Dan Coggins when he was just a 14 year old, while the MKI Fuzz Side is another Thorpy classic Fuzz - and a kind of teaser / preview for the eventual Silicon Boneyard Edition - whenever that gets released!

I attended just one show this month - but it was a great one - the #2 Alternative Guitar Show @ Hackney...

Initially when I saw the enclosure I thought to myself - great concept, but I would have preferred a compact enclosure - while Lee and the team at Andertons wanted to lean into the vintage side of this pedal - and therefore go with the larger of the Thorpy enclosure sizes.

The colour and the contour-line artwork is pretty striking - and it didn’t take me long to process and decide that I really wanted this pedal - especially after I heard the Pete Honoré demo. This is a very unique ThorpyFX...

When Keeley released its XVIII Anniversary Space Panorama Triptych I stated at the time that the artwork was somewhat more reminiscent of Walrus Audio - and surely they (Walrus) should be doing some sort of space-themed panorama across a number of pedals, as several of their pedals already carry that kind of sci-fi theme. I don’t know how related these two events are - but it sounds like someone was listening somewhere along the way and Walrus now has its own ’Luna’ Lunar ...

I think whichever way you cut it, retail is essentially about CHOICE - about your preferences really - what price level you want to shop at, and what is available to you at that price range. Of course the more you know about guitar gear, the wider the range you are likely to be interested in, so it fits that your preferred vendor has the largest product range available within your budgetary preferences.
