By some strange fashion, and not really by any deliberate design or intention - the most populous genre category within my reference collection has become the Big Muff type - where I now have over 130 pedals of various sizes. With the King Muff being the Dazatronyx Big Fuzz Console at the top of that tree - with its 10 knobs and 30 switches.

Immediately below that tier is my more expansive mid-size Muffs - of which I have numerous varieties too. And none more potent than the 4 featured here...

 I was super impressed with Wyatt’s Heiress Fuzz that I reviewed last week - a fantastic sounding Fuzz Face take with Transistor switching on the Q2 Stage - with a really potent output.

The Kozel though is even more impressive - definitely S-Tier for me in that category. It brilliantly captures all the best aspects of the Big Muff profile - taking in elements of the Triangle, Ram’s Head and Sovtek Muffs. Therefore combining low-end heft with searing cutting delivery.

Wyatt very evidently likes to do things differently, and this is about as different a Fuzz Face as you can get! Beautifully conceived and executed.

It leans a little more into its wiry and searing Silicon side, but gives you the option of switching in a Germanium MP10B Transistor to warm things up slightly - if that’s more your thing.

The 3 top knobs are your usual Fuzz Face style controls - essentially Tone, Fuzz, and Level. You then have the Transistor Selector, a Bass-cut option, ...
