This is my second iStingor pedal - I’m fully onboard with that brand now, while the first one - the Super OverDrive OD-1 was entirely off my own back. I’ve been really impressed with this range - and there’s no one close to this level of quality at this price point - just $79 across the board courtesy of the iStingor Amazon.com Store. If you read my recent PastFX OG-1 piece - you would know that I initially intended to pick up an original long-dash OD-1 with the very original 14-pin JRC3403 OpAmp onboard. There’s hardly any of those available in the wild - and typically they are battered and way over-priced. February is always something of a lull - particularly after the hyper busy NAMM-inflected January. This month is the doldrums of the calendar where not much gets releases. I did though manage to land a decent selection of a dozen pedals - obviously some from the previous year. With the Sinvertek MGAT-1 EVO being the standout pedal landed - where the Klowra Gnash and Wampler Golden Jubilee were pretty spectacular too. 3 x Klowra pedals on the board this month - all excellent!

At first glance this pedal looks like it owes a lot to the Boss OD-1 and SD-1 - it has the same moniker, similar yellow hue, and same silver screw - which opens up a top-loading battery compartment - all quite distinct Boss markers.

You might expect this to be an OpAmp style OD-1 or SD-1 overdrive take, while this is an entirely different circuit with MOSFET transistors at its heart and generally a little more bite than the Boss variants. The main board is a reverse one - so you can’t ...
