Holy Island Audio's Micro Mountain Mover is a fierce and massive moving wall of sound - Searing Big Muff with the added bloom of a Super-Fuzz
This is essentially the core of the large 8-controls Mountain Mover Fuzz shrunk down to compact dimensions - but with all the fierce essence retained from the original. The Mountain Mover uniquely combines the core character of a searing sort of Ram’s Head Muff with the added Bloom of a Super-Fuzz. It sound superb, and starts of fierce with even the Gain turned all the way down.
Controls - Tone/Filter, Gain, Mids EQ : ↑ Mids-Shift / ↓ Stock, Master Level.
I tend to keep the Master volume at around 2-3 o'clock - that's already plenty loud enough, optimal gain range for me is 9 o'c to 3 o'c - with 9 o'c the best balanced - that sounds perfect. I prefer the Mid-Shifted EQ with the tone dial at 10 o'c, and for stock EQ I need to raise the Tone to Noon - that sounds really decent, but my perfect settings are Mid-Shift on, Tone @ 10 o'c, Gain @ 9 o'c and Master ! 3 o'c - that sounds absolutely blisteringly good.
You can of course max out the Gain and Master - and you get a super-saturated slightly overblown output - which still sounds pretty decent.
This is a properly massive sounding fuzz - beautifully fierce and full of life - sounds fantastic!
The Micro Mountain Mover is currently awaiting the next batch release - when it's in stock on the Holy Island Audio Store it goes for the amazingly good value £135 (c. $180). I've loved each of my 3 Holy Island Audio pedals landed to date - they all sound very distinct and different - well worth a consideration!
