Supposedly by popular demand - JHS extracts the BBC-1 Boost from its NOTADÜMBLË Drive - now in standalone Fumble Mini Boost Edition

One of my builder friends sometimes accuses JHS of a somewhat lazy approach to pedal building - where those resulting pedals are mostly near exact circuit / topology reproductions - without any significant further evolution or innovation spin. The recent Coyote Moonrock Fuzz is a great example of that!

Josh Scott excels at marketing, and new money for old rope pedals - and he's been an absolute godsend to EHX - being able to spin castaways and previously rejected models into lost classics - which EHX is still busy at spinning out in a variety of different editions.

I don't mind pedal builders taking on existing circuits - but they should put their own stamp on them - and evolve and innovate them to be better - and offer more than those originals - which often had notable flaws in their makeup.

The price tag for the Fumble is primed for success - $89 is well within the impulse-buy psychology threshold, and I'm sure the pedal will do well enough - while I'm not sure it's entirely necessary!

Josh has announced that he is in the process of developing the V2 NOTADÜMBLË - this time supposedly with the intended 'Box It Later' boost onboard. Which means the original NOTADÜMBLË buyers will need to double down again - to get the official Mayer Boost. It would surely have been far better for the 'Fumble' to be a 2-in-1 Compact - with both BBC-1 and Box It Later Boosts Onboard. While I feel that edition will likely emerge too - some months after the NOTADÜMBLË 2 - you know it makes sense!
