Young Swiss designers Eric and Beni - aka ebbe design have innovated an incredibly smart infinitely expandable Magnetic Modular Pedalboard system, which makes excellent use of presumably Neodymium magnets. While there is some involvement with pedal tape - but like everything else here - that is ingeniously executed too - as we shall see!
At the core you have 2 sizes of boards - designated as ’_ma’ and ’o_ma’ which you can quickly snap together to expand in every direction. On the top-side -...
At one stage there was a 50/50 chance as to whether I would make the show - as there were significant disruptions on the Liverpool Street to Norwich line - which meant a bus replacement service between Colchester and Ipswich. Some of the journey times quoted were up to 4 and a 1/2 hours each way! In the end the door-to-door was closer to 3 hours in total! The journey up including the coach was actually more fun that the journey back via Cambridge. Cambridge has obviously sinned grievously as ...
So Boss finally has its own dedicated Footswitch Toppers, or Foot Switch Caps as it call these.
The transparent design works really well with Boss Devices Footswitch LED’s - where those Caps are beautifully lit from inside so that they sort of glow and illuminate in a really attractive way.
Key Features and Specs
I first made contact with Mr.MojoFX right at the end of last month. They are a Barcelona-based collective which make 3D-Printed music accessories in full-colour plastics - including a very fetching and imaginative range of Footswtitch Toppers - in 3 series - Vintage Tech, Munchies, and Masks.
I was given the choice of which Series I liked - and per the cover picture I went for the Vintage Tech Series - which includes a Jukebox, Ghettoblaster, Compact Cassette, Record Deck, and Fake News TV.
Each...
So, like most everyone - I started off with Standard 10 Set Strings - as are default fitted on most new guitars.
Early on I was mostly PRS-based and favoured PRS’s own strings - starting off with several sets of 10 Standard : 10 | 13 | 17 | 26 | 36 | 46, before I then decided to go to the slightly skinnier route - PRS 9.5’s : 9.5 | 11.5 | 16 | 24 | 34 | 44.
I then tried 9’s from both Elixir, and D’Addario - where I settled on the Skinny Top Heavy Bottom NYXL 9s : 09 | 11 | 16 | 26 | 36 ...
So here are the highlights from the very first Woking Boutique Guitar Show - which took place this past Saturday at the Fiery Bird venue - just 5 minutes walk from the train station / town centre.
The show was organised by my good friend Jason Snelling of Maybury Guitars, alongside John Smith of JAS Guitars. The venue was perfectly centrally located, and was spacious - with a lot of natural light - which did make some of the photography somewhat...
So I was one of the 300-odd who watched GigRig’s Pedalboard launch on the TGR Podcast. And like many, I was blown away by how smartly these are designed and constructed. Hitherto the go-to smart pedalboard system has typically been Schmidt Array - admittedly beautiful mostly wooden boards - but relatively heavy, and reassuringly expensive! That’s not to say these featured boards are in any way low-cost - while when you factor in exactly what you’re getting here - the prices are very fair and ...
I’m a little late with this - even Josh Scott beat me to the punch here - while I had always intended to do an overview article for Pedalnetics - this is just when I finally got to that task!.
Pedalnetics in the main makes various switching devices which wholly fit with the profile of the target pedals they are intended for, it also makes pedal-risers and patch-bays, as well as colourful replacement knobs for Halo Devices. The switches are either stand-alone and simply connected, or consist...
Boss’s new BIC Instrument Cables offer up a real splash of colour in an otherwise monochrome world. Where the packaging is totally genius too. These are highly individual high quality instrument cables - the you can mix and match with the colour of your guitar. I personally would really need a dark blue one to coordinate - while I really like the majority contrast of these cables.
These quality BOSS cables preserve your tone while bringing a vibrant look to your rig connections. Available ...
For owners of Boss’s Multi Effects Processors - say GX-10 and GT-1000 for instance - you now have 2 different sized cases / tote-bags to carry and protect those between deployments. These are handy softshell bags with plenty of padding - to offer ultimate protection and portability for Boss’s more expansive pedals.
"Stylish, lightweight, and durable, the CB-BM Series cases are the ideal solution for transporting your BOSS multi-effects unit and essential accessories. They are a perfect fit ...
