So this project was first announced right on April 1st - in the middle of all the April Fool stuff - and  part of me still isn’t 100% sure this is entirely real - even though the pedal is in wide dealer distribution by now.

It seems a little vanilla to be a full-fat Beetronics style pedal - but there are several smart touches here which make it worthy.

Controls - KLONE } Honey (Gain), Taste (Tone), Volume, Mode : 1 No Clean Blend / 2 Medium Blend / 3 Full Blend, Klone Footswitch; BLUESBREAKER } Honey (Gain), Taste (Tone), Volume, Mode : 1 Mid Boost / 2 Flat / Low Boost, Bluesbreaker Footswitch.

Obviously you have the classic 3 controls per side - amusingly labelled, but basically Gain, Tone and Volume. You then have an Order Switch : Bluesbreaker First / Both in Parallel / Klone First, and each channel has 3 sort of EQ / Character Mode Options.

So it’s one of many classic Klone + Bluesbreaker combo pedals out there - like say the Keeley D&M Drive. The advantage here is in the super neat compact format factor - with those smart extra voicing options onboard.

Now that I’ve finally accepted that this pedal is not an April Fool - I think I would very much like to add one of these to the reference collection!

I much prefer the original graphics layout you see on the Standard pedal, and a couple or so of the Custom Shop Editions as pictured in my visual. Overall the Standard version has the most logical and most appealing look for me - and that is most definitely the variety I will be gunning for!

The Wannabee Beelateral Buzz is available for order from the Beetronics Webstore, and already widespread among International Dealers - where it goes for $299 as Standard, and $399 for Custom Editions, that loosely translates to £318 in the UK, and €365 in the EU.

I feel that this is probably the neatest form factor for Klone + Bluesbreaker to date - and therefore well worth considering with all those extras - the design is appealing too!

How do you all feel about this particular model - and is it on your wishlist?
