Aclam release 68 Units Limited Run White Album Edition of their Go Rocky Go Vox Conqueror Analog Emulator Preamp

This is probably the second-most potent of Aclam’s Beatles-inspired pedals (after the Dr. Roberts). Initially released in colourful George Harrison Rocky Guitar style enclosure. The Vox Conqueror Amp was used on both the Magical Mystery Tour and White Albums. So the original edition is very much based on the Magical Mystery Tour Album - and this extremely limited all-white edition is based very obviously on the White Album.

I’m personally a little conflicted here - as I really liked the original colourway - but this all-white edition is growing on me too!

Inside it’s exactly the same pedal as before. Outside there are a couple changes - obviously the difference in artwork (no artwork), but also Aclam have re-engineered most of their pedals now to remove - those holes you used to have on their pedals - to fit in with their pedalboard system. Those hole were always a bugbear for me - but most of the models have been re-engineered now - to remove those holes! You can compare with my original Go Rocky Go post!

All the Aclam Beatles series sound superb. I would still prefer these in a more portrait orientation - but I can’t grumble too much - these are great sounding pedals.

Currently only the Cinnamon Drive and Windmiller Preamp remain to be updated to the new no-apertures editions.

The Dr. Robert is probably Aclam’s best selling pedal - better than ever in its new edition. That would probably be my first pick from Aclam - and then this White Album Edition Rocky Go Rocky - marches really nicely with that!

As mentioned apart from the colourway and updated exterior - this is the same circuit as before.

Controls - Volume, Drive : Attack <> Sustain, MRB / Mid Range Boost Frequency : 1 / 2 / 3, Treble, Bass, Distortion Volume, Bypass / Overdrive Footswitch - hold for Crunch, Distortion Footswitch, Distoriton + Bypass Footswitch engages MRB Mid Range Boost - which you can also have separately on Overdrive and Crunch voicings.
 
The MRB Mid Range Boost gives you some excellent Mid-Pushed tones - including Cocked Wah - so possibly could be used for Mick Ronson tones to n some regard. That is engaged by pressing both Footswitches together and can be set on Overdive, Crunch and Distortion voices somewhat independently.
 
The name of the pedal and its original artwork is inspired by George Harrison’s ’Rocky’ Stratocaster from that era. This limited run edition is obviously inspired by the ’blank’ / embossed and numbered Beatles White Album!

Only 68 of these are available, and likely many will be sold already! ’68 was obviously the year of release for the White Album. While Revolver from ’66 is my all-time favourite Beatles Album - and is served by that Aclam Dr. Roberts Pedal!

These White Album Rocky Go Rocky Preamps are priced at €305 and equivalent, already sold out on the Aclam webstore - but a few still available with dealers as of writing this. They may all be gone by the time this is published. I only got the press release sent through on the day of release - and I was in the middle of Brighton Guitar Show write-up duties at the time! Too many of these press releases come through way too late. I always have a heavy work schedule - so it’s always tricky to fit these in last minute.

If you’re a big fan of the White Album - it’s probably worth it - while the colourful Rocky Go Rocky is still on general release - and is a gorgeous variant too!
