Supposedly much requested - Greer Amps delivers its own Mori Drive formulation of Screamer, with a healthy injection of Klon DNA too

Key Points

Greer Amps’ Mori Drive is its own Screamer formulation with a healthy injection of Klon DNA. It refines the mid-hump, smooths the clipping profile and delivers considerably more volume, aiming to sit better in the mix with a more pleasing output.

The 1590BB enclosure carries hints of its inspirations, with side-mounted Level, Tone and Overdrive controls. Nick chose an almost lime green finish with oxblood Klon knobs.

Greer Amps lists it at $249 when available. The first batch sold out direct, with dealer stock and more expected soon. The article notes its 1590BB width may suit vertical pedalboard placement.

The ubiquity of Tube Screamers has been well documented on this site, I’m not sure we need another. While this is more of a hybrid really, significantly refining the mid-hump, smoothing out the clipping profile, and delivering a tonne more volume for starters!

This is a more refined Screamer - one in silk slippers I suppose, and one which supposedly sits better in the mix, and delivers a more pleasing output.

I’m not necessarily a fan of the 1590BB landscape enclosure - but I can understand why Nick decided to roll it out this way - making it carry hints of its source inspirations, but in an evolved format - with the controls on the side rather than along the top as is customary!

My pedalboard practical side gets a little irked by the artifice, but it makes sense conceptually - and so I can’t really grumble. Quite an elegant remit really - as I’ve hopefully characterised adequately in the visual!

Controls - Level, Tone, Overdrive.

These are $249 from the Greer Amps Store - when available. The first batch is already sold out direct from Greer, but there should be some available at dealers, and more on there way real soon.

It’s quite a cute project really. I will probably arrange it vertically if I decide to go for this. I’ve long advocated pedalboard-friendly pedals - and the width dimension is the most sensitive here!

It’s quite a cute pedal really though - that almost lime green enclosure with the classic oxblood Klon knobs!

Some will love this for sure - in fact as shown by how quickly the first batch sold through!
