Native Audio completes its Hat Trick of killer pedals - with the In The Water Wave Reflector Multi-Octave Reverse Delay & Drone Device

Native Audio’s In The Water is a Wave Reflector multi-octave reverse delay and drone device, following Mike’s Pattern Keeper Phrase Modulator and Niisoo Harmonic Equalizer / Filter. Its independent REFLECTIONS and WAVE GEN effects create aqueous ambient textures, with ripples, blooms and drones.
Controls include Dry>Wet Mix, Number of Ripples / Oscillation, Reflections Length, Waveform Low Pass, Waveform Resonance and Waveform Level. The Wave Generation Footswitch captures input to generate a blooming / droning wave.
Mark Johnston’s demo won the writer over. It costs $299 on the Native Audio Store; acquisition was planned for early August. There is no active UK dealer.
Both of Mike’s previous devices were exceptional - the Pattern Keeper Phrase Modulator and Niisoo Harmonic Equalizer / Filter. The new In The Water may be my favourite of all - a quite superb aqueous wave reflector multi-octave reverse delay and wave generator drone device. This is the epitome of aqueous ambient textures - as one note can swell / bloom in and ripple and reflect back and in on itself - ad infinitum - as you wish.
We have essentially two effects - each controlled by 3 knobs. Both sides are independent - and the simplicity of the device belies the incredibly rich and complex textures you get out of this pedal. Like an infinite reflecting pool with ripples intersecting and triggering new blooms and still further waves.
It really sounds extraordinary to me. The Niisoo and Pattern Keeper are still on my wishlist - while the In The Water becomes a priority acquisition target. Shame that there is no active dealer in the UK. Break the Machine is still a sort of dealer - but they’ve not ordered in any of those new pedals, in fact nothing new for quite a while. We desperately need an active Native Audio UK dealer so we can get our hands on these wonderful tone machines!
Those 3 in the below picture are totally world class - and utilise the same format. I’m probably a little too late on the Niisoo now - as I loved the original version - while the current version is not as attractive for me - perhaps I need to pick up one of those second-hand!
I really want the In The Water though - it will take over the Hotone Verbera slot a little prematurely - but so many of my incoming pedals are delayed these days - that the transition won't cause any sort of disruption.

I heard Mark Johnston's demo first and was won over immediately. This is a kind of aqueous Modulator / Delay / Reverb / Drone. So simple in operation, but so beautifully organic and ever morphing / evolving with the most complex interacting soundstage. It sounds staggeringly good. This is an ultimate soundtrack and film score generator device - it's truly a box of wonders!
I'm wholly smitten here - and will be looking to get one of these in from early August.
I picked up way too many pedals this month (near 30!) - and already have a sizeable backlog that is going to take me well into the next month - I still have numerous pedals to photograph, document, and test before the end of this month!
The In The Water Wave Reflector is $299 on the Native Audio Store, which I feel is fairly priced for how amazing it sounds. It's the kind of pedal you can get lost in for a whole day - just wrapped up within its wonderful ever evolving soundstage.
Props to Mike for his brilliance here - superb vision, and perfect execution!
