Here we have the latest of the BlackHatSound family - which I believe is the 5th in the series :
This time around it’s all about simplicity and purity of output - which is ever raw and visceral with this type of circuit. Here suitably loaded with a pair of vintage 70’s Micro Electronic 4003 Silicon Transistors.
The pedal is served by a single Master Volume - which you just know is going to produce a formidable output. There’s no tone stack or further components to suck up the juice - it all goes toward that singular output.
I already own the Original and the Deluxe editions, this one is cool but a little large for my purposes. I’ve still got my eye on the Germanium one - for when that comes around again. Having 3 BHS Pedals seems about right, while this is a great jumping off point if you haven’t yet experienced the magic of Black Hat Sound! - Where my two are still my favourites for the range.
The BlackHatSound circuit is roughly based on the Tone Bender MKI sound!
These Tour Grade One Knob Alpha Fuzzes go up for sale tomorrow evening on the Reeves Electro Webstore - the 21st of this month @ 20:00 hrs BST Time. Only 10 will be available at £350. You will need to be quick as these releases always go fast.
This is a really cool simplified edition and well worth your consideration!
