Markus has created another special edition BlackHatSound Fuzz - the 4th variant edition as far as I’m aware. And this time around he’s gone with rare Germanium Transistors - which is quite a departure for him - as he’s long been about getting the most out of Silicon components.
The rarity of the components is reflected in the £450 price tag - which is fairly steep - while very much on par for Reeves Electro’s point-to-point hand-wired series.
Had I not been over-committed for May I would have loved to have added this one to the collection - which is easily identifiable by its striking red knobs.
Controls - Volume, Bass Boost, Bias.
Surely another classic Reeves Electro Fuzz in the making - where the BlackHatSound is my favourite family from that selection. Markus just recently modified my BHS-D to give it more output oomph and verve - such that it matches the raw visceral nature of the original.
This is another standout Reeves Electro variant - which will hopefully come around again when I’ve slightly less going on. May is going to be an expensive month for me for sure - and alas this Special Edition BHS would have broken the bank as success.
Hopefully Markus has a few more of those AC187’s for further batches!
Only 10 will go up for sale tomorrow - and I expect demand to be extremely high - as Germanium Revess Electro Editions don’t come around very often.
