Key Points

Marshall has released a 60th-anniversary Hendrix-inspired limited edition: a hand-wired 1959 JMH 100W valve amp head and matching 1960 AJMH 4x12” angled cabinet, finished in a purple oil-on-water design, plus a Dunlop Fuzz Face pedal in the same design. The bundle is aimed at collectors and players with deep pockets — priced at £3,800 (UK), €4,400 (Europe) or $5,000 (USA). The 1959 JMH head is a 100W, 2-channel (bridgeable) unit with Volume I/II, Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence controls, 4 instrument inputs (high/low sensitivity), 2 speaker outputs selectable for 4/8/16Ω, preamp valves: 2×ECC83 + 1×ECC83 phase splitter, and 4×EL34 power valves. The 1960 AJMH cab is a 4×12" angled cabinet loaded with Celestion G12H-30 speakers, rated 120W and 15Ω mono. The Dunlop Fuzz Face included has simple Loud and Foxey controls. It’s a high-end, artisan hand-wired Marshall package intended to reproduce that classic Jimi Hendrix tone with matching aesthetics.

We get a cool 60’s Hendrix inspired purple oil-on-water design across classic hand-wired Marshall Amp Head, Cab, and matching Dunlop Fuzz Face pedal.

One for those with deep pockets - as this will cost you £3,800 in the UK where they are hand-wired / made, €4,400 in Europe, and $5,000 in the USA. Had I unlimited funds and space - I would possibly spring for one of these cool editions. While I’ve always been a combo guy really - and a 2-amp stereo guy too - with Marshall style on the Left Channel and an equivalent Vox AC30 style / ish on the right channel.

This amp doesn’t really fit my space or model as such - but had I won the lottery and moved into a larger house I would for sure not mind springing for one of these. They look so good - I’m sure they will sell well among those upper echelon Marshall fans. And the matching Fuzz Face really seals the deal.

Unquestionably cool all-round - a proper artisan hand-wired amp - delivering the full attitude of that classic Jimi Hendrix sound!

Amp Controls - Off/On Switch, Standby/On Switch, Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume I, Volume II, 2 x I & II Inputs.

Amp Rear - Speaker Out x 2 (100W RMS), Output Selector : 4Ω / 8Ω / 16Ω, Mains Selector : 100V / 120V / 220V, Mains Input : 230V - 50Hz (375 Watts), Mains Fuse, HT Fuse.

Dunlop Fuzz Face Controls - Loud, Foxey.
