So it turns out that the original 10-Controls Chug was intended go mostly into the FX Loop of your Amp - more as as a Preamp, while the Chug Lite was mostly designed and developed to go into the front of a Clean Pedal Platform - as a High Gain Distortion. I’ve actually been using the Chug into the front of my amps - but always felt that the control topology was a little more complicated than it needed to be!
The Chug Lite is unique of the two in having those Parametric Mids (minus Q-bandwidt) - which is a feature I’ve always found to be super handy.
Controls - Bass, Middle ±, Treble, Output, Mids Frequency, Gain.
The price on this is pretty superb at just $129 - which should result in a healthy take-up. I’ve always liked the Chug - while as mentioned - that one’s kind of complicated - so this new one might just be the more preferable option for many - and including me!
This one definitely goes on the wishilst now - for when I do the next update for High Gain Pedals - I will be getting the Airis 51-Filthy at the same time - and something from This Heavy Earth - I’m happy to here suggestions and recommendation for that brand - as I’ve still to make my mind up on which of those is best for me!
In the meantime if you’re a fan of that Chuggy / Djenty sound - then the Chug Lite is a superb proposition at a price point you can’t refuse!
