My 2nd sound exploration of the superb Dazatronyx Big Fuzz Console Ultimate Multi-Muff
So the actual 1973 V2 Violet Ram’s Head Muff most commonly used FS36999 transistors - which were kind of replacements for the 2N5133’s of the V1 Triangle - those supplies eventually ran out, while there were still several Ram’s heads that used up the remaining 2N5133’s.
When EHX reissued the Violet Ram’s Head in 2019 as a Nano edition they used BC547C’s. So for this Violet Ram’s Head sound-shaping session I tried the 2N5133’s, then the BC547C, and finally the BC547B’s - which are the ones I liked best, and therefore feature in my Violet Ram’s Head Preferences as below.
As per the previous example I include the reference values [in parentheses] - those were aggregated from a variety of resources including Kit Rae’s Big Muff Pi page, and with a little help from Google AI too!
The Violet Ram’s Head core output has a wonderful zing to it - and I feel my preferred settings sound pretty spot on - albeit they are tuned to my own preference - they are notably different settings to my V1 Triangle ones!
Next up is the Green Russian Sovtek V7 variant from 1994 - this used mostly KT3102EM / KT3102E Soviet transistors. Where the reissues had mostly BC547C’s - where the 2N5088 and 2N5089 are also great alterntives to those. I will be checking out both BC547 variants and the 2N5088 and 2N5089 before I make my final selection for the Green Russian.
And then after that I will be trying for the the EQD Hoof / Loe Sounds She Fuzz - and using my 2N1308 Germanium Transistors in Sockets Q2 and Q3. Thorpy tells me he did a one-off all-germanium take of his Fallout Cloud Fuzz - so I will try that too for a second variation of the Hybrid take!
My preferred settings below - and the referenced values [in parentheses] ! :

STAGE 1 / Q4 [ref value in parenthesis]
SUSTAIN | BRIGHT | BUFFER IN
STAGE 2 / Q3
CLIP
STAGE 3 Q2
TONE + VOLUME
STAGE 4 / Q1

I've marked up the cluster of fixed transistors that can be selected on each Rotary controller.
These are BC337-25, BC547B, BC547C, 2N5088, and 2N5089.
As mentioned before - I swapped in 2N5133 transistors for the first socket selection. By default those are 2N2222A.
