The Peace Fuzz was one of my targets for last year, and I indeed did an article back in August of last year with the aim to get one in during that year. I used to have a main contact at MLA - called Mark - who just stopped responding to me all of a sudden. I had helped him connect with a number of my good demo friends - including Andy Martin, Shawn Tubbs, and Alberto Barrero - I had set all those up - but Mark did not follow up for whatever reason. And shortly after that kind of started ghosting me - which stands to this day - he just no longer responds to any of my messages, and hasn’t for a while - most bizarre!
I really wanted the Peace Fuzz - and was trying to figure out where to get one from when I spotted that my now good friend Stephen at Northern Stompboxes has become a dealer / stockist for MLA - right here in the UK. It’s obviously more expedient and typically lower cost to buy local - and since I had been kind of snubbed by MLA - that direct path wasn’t really optimal for me any more - so I was delighted to find a source relatively close to hand.
I own 3 x MLA pedals to date - the HotLanta, Peacock Germanium, and Black Edition of Eliminator. By the time the AC⚡OD came around - I had seemingly long been exiled from that brand - I would still love to know why that happened? I always liked these pedals, and had always intended to get more - even after I had been snubbed. While I was also understandably somewhat conflicted at the time - and nothing further happened until I spotted the Peace Fuzz at Northern Stompboxes.
So reestablishing contact with Northern Stompboxes has been quite opportune and timely for me - as Stephen has smartly bought in 4 of the best from MLA - all of which I have as targets. My Peace Fuzz has landed already - and there will be a separate review of that within a week or so. And then I will look to add the remaining 3 - one-by-one - starting with the AC⚡OD - probably at the rate of one a month - meaning the next one should happen in February.
I also acquired the excellent Superlunar SR-01 from Stephen - who took over the business from the Marc - who I had bought a few pedals from over the years - Magnetic Effects, and Hudson Electronics - indeed I got my Dual Broadcast from Marc. I was sad to read the announcement that Marc was shuttering the business - while Stephen then arrived as the White Knight - and fully revived it - making it better than ever - with a fantastic mix of appealing brands.
The 4 Missing Link Audio pedals currently in stock at Northern Stompboxes are :

Controls - Volume, Gain, Tone.
Controls - Volume, Gain, Voicing : Germanium / Normal, Tone.
There doesn't seem to be a demo for the newer Deluxe Edition - and so I've featured one of the best demos of the Germanium Black Edition!
Controls - Level, Attack, Voice 1 / Voice 2, Tone 1, Tone 2.
Controls - Volume, Era : 70's Vintage 1 / 2 90's Modern, Gain, Tone, Voice / Character.
As mentioned, I am looking to get in all of those eventually - with the review of the Peace Fuzz fairly imminent.
