So the latest Poly Effects Trails Pedal is a slight departure from the norm - part of the same series obviously as the Flat-V, Verbs and Ample - while those are larger collections of themed algorithms - grouped together in multiples of 8.
For the Trails - there are simply just 8 effects in total, with the 8th being an 8-Step Sequencer.
As before - I’ve tried to cram all the essentials into one infographic visual that explains it all - most of the pertinent details are on the visual - and there are some further details below.
Besides the 8-Step Sequencer- the other 7 Algorithms are as follows :
It’s slightly reminiscent of the recent Chase Bliss Lost + Found - which has 12 Effects on Board - there is some slight overlap - while those two pedals have quite different algorithms - although the overarching theme is not dissimilar.
As before you can run TRS in and Out for full Stereo - and there are some smart secondary effects within the device too - where you will need to read the manual to get the most out of this device.
As the Lost + Found has literally just landed - I’m putting this one back until I have mastered that one - in part it depends also if Loki offers me a good price!
I normally deliver the goods for Loki - I don’t think anyone else is in the ballpark of my visual - which provide such detailed coverage - in such a small space!
I did kind of except this to me be some sort of fairly left-field modulator - and that’s a large part of what we got - while the collection of algorithms sans several categories.
As before this unit goes for $399 on the Polly Effects Webstore - which is the exact equivalent to Chase Bliss - obviously a square mid-sized box though versus compact. You can read up more about the Trails on the Polly Effects Website!
