More on the CURVE and DRIFT RANGE Controls :
- Curve Control - Selects the modulation waveform used by the Drift section. The four available shapes are Sine, Reverse Saw, Square, and Random. Each waveform changes the way the delay time moves and gives the modulation a different personality.
- Drift Range - Selects one of three modulation speed and depth ranges: Light, Medium, or Heavy. Light is the place to start for subtle movement. Medium makes the modulation more obvious. Heavy is where the pedal begins to sound unstable, seasick, mechanical, or wonderfully broken.
Drift Modulation and Friction Modes

DRIFT MODULATION WAVEFORMS
- SINE - The smoothest and most traditional waveform. This is the place to start for gentle tape-style movement, soft chorus-like delay modulation, and a little life in the repeats without making the effect call attention to itself
- REVERSE SAW - Creates a repeated ramping movement with a sharper reset. It can make the delay feel like it is repeatedly climbing, slipping, or being pulled back into place
- SQUARE - Jumps between two modulation positions instead of moving smoothly between them. This creates a more obvious, stepped pitch change that can sound mechanical, choppy, or deliberately lo-fi
- RANDOM - Moves the modulation in less predictable ways. At lighter settings it can add an irregular worn-tape feel. At heavier settings it can scatter the pitch and movement of the repeats into much stranger territory
FRICTION MODES
- RUBBERNECK UP - Bends the delay time in one direction while the footswitch is held, creating an upward pitch movement in the repeats. Release the switch and the delay returns to its normal setting at a rate controlled by the Friction knob.
- RUBBERNECK DOWN - Bends the delay time in the opposite direction, producing a falling pitch dive. This is the closest connection to the performance feature that helped make the original DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay so memorable.
- SLIDESTOP SHALLOW - Slows the delayed signal toward a stop with a less extreme change. It can create a smeared, dragging effect that sounds like the echo is losing momentum without completely falling apart.
- SLIDESTOP DEEP - Takes the stopping effect farther, bringing the signal to a much more dramatic halt. Hold the switch to drag the sound down, then release it and let the delay accelerate back into motion.
- EVADE HOPSTOP - Produces a more abrupt stopping or jumping behavior. This mode appears aimed at short, rhythmic interruptions and sudden changes rather than a long, smooth pitch sweep.
- EVADE SLIDE-N-GO - Creates a sliding transition that moves away and then returns when the footswitch is released. It can be used for stutter-like accents, warped transitions, and those strange little sounds that make everybody in the room look down at your pedalboard.

The DOD Drag Delay + FX3S seems to be widely available in the UK, less so in Europe (no bundles?), and almost non-existent in the USA so far.
Andertons were the first to list it, and the first to make a video! In fact the only demo to date. It's still not listed on the DOD / Digitech website - even though some of the UK dealers have been listing it for a fortnight now!
I'm definitely coming for one of these - they're at a superb price point - the bundle is essential really - I don't understand the sites selling the Drag on its own! I'm not sure when I will land one - could be next month, could be this autumn! Really cool pedal every which way - but likely a little much for some!
