This is a culmination of a life’s work for Thomas Blug - we’ve seen Amp 1, Mercury and Iridium editions over the years - and it’s like seeing an elite watchmaker add further complication to his triple-axis tourbillon watch!

You have 26 digitally-enhanced controls - which shape analog components (including a 100W NanoTube) into myriad amp and pedal profiles - by engaging and fine-tuning those components in various ways. Thomas has been developing this for at least a decade now - with the aim to be able to fully accurately and authentically reproduce any and every amp profile that is out there in the world - as well as various gain pedals - including things like Tube Screamer Overdrives and Rat Distortions. It does so many things and therefore has quite a significant footprint to match its ballpark release price of around $1,990. It has no less than 6 user-configurable footswitches. And the modelling controls can be concealed under a semi-translucent panel cover - which lights up the BluGuitar logo when closed!

You can also buy X-Wing Expression / Volume / Remote Control Pedals - which are made to lock into either side of the device.

Thomas has really thought of everything - this is one of the most kitchen-sinked device out there! Early production prototype models are already out - so Thomas is in the final stages of last minute refinements - before those fully go into an official general product release. We’ve waited a long time for this - and now it seems to be in its final final stages - exciting times ahead - and I look forward to all the myriad videos that will showcase how unerringly close this can get to any Amp Profile. It runs a closely guarded special 100W NanoTube - which generates the core of the sound!

Top Panel Controls & Ports - 1/8" Headphones Out, Aux In. Boost, X1-X4 Variable Parameter Controls - with scribble strips above, Powerdrive, Amp X Type Selector : Pedal / Amp / FX / Cab, OLED Display, Home Button, Push Rotary Dial, Learn Button [Save], USB-C Port, Tube Viewing Port.

Core Main Panel Controls - Mode : Modern / Classic / Vintage / Clean, Drive Button, Boost Button, Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence, Modulation Button, Delay Button, Reverb, Master, Status LED, Standby Switch, 1-6 Configurable Footswitches.

Rear Panel - Universal Power Socket AC 100-240 Volts, Speaker } 16Ω. 8Ω, X-Fan, Left & Right XLR Main Out, Din MIDI Out, 1/4" Remote, 1/4" Line Out, 1/4" FX Send & Return, 1/4" Controller, 1/4" input.

You have to be impressed by the engineering prowess on display here - this will be an incredible accomplishment when it finally goes out on general release later this year.

I’m not sure this is imminently in my future - but would be cool to check it out as some stage - seems to have so much potential - and the early production prototype demos already sound superb.

More details to come for sure!
