What we have here is a much simpler digital modulated delay - with a central Mode rotary selector - which selects one of 8 Filter or Tremolo Modulated Repeats.
The control topology could not be simpler - and we have the perfect complement of controls for maximum impact.
Controls - Time, Feedback, Mix, Modulation, MODES 1-8.
MODES
This is more of an ambient textural delay versus a precision metronome. Beetronics doesn’t even reference the delay time range - as this Hazee is more about shaping an interesting texture to your output. It seems mostly focused on the textural style of delay - where those 8 Modes cover a variety of Filter / Octave / Shimmer and Reverse sounds.
The Hazee Delay heads up the new Pollinator Series, and goes for $249 on the Beetronics Webstore, which compares to $ for the Analog Bee Bee Dee @ $299.
Both the Delays are interesting - they are both Mono - so not necessarily perfect for my own setup - but as interesting mono delays - these are definitely worthy of consideration!
I can’t say how likely either of these are in my future. Stereo delays will always get priority - but I do like mono delay also to a degree - particularly if they are glitchy / ambient / textural!
