So what we have here is another innovative fluttery style of dual delay - making exceptional use of the PT2399 chip and adding serial tremolo points into the mix.
We have a somewhat unique control topology - with 4 push-buttons on the right-hand-side - the first 3 of those select one of 5 modes for each of those 3 tremolo points : Off | On | Blinking | Fading | Mix of Blinking + Fading. And then the final 4th button Randomises the interaction of those Tremolo Points.
Otherwise the topology is relatively conventional :
Controls - Dry, Wet, Delay 1 Time, Delay 2 Time, Repeats for Both, Latch (Probably of Tremolo repeating on the same LED / point), Tremolo Rate [Tremolo Depth - with Random Button held), Tremolo Points 1-3 Push-buttons : Off | On | Blinking | Fading | Blinking + Fading, 4th Push-Button is Randomisation for Tremolo (and held delivers Depth for Rate knob), Left Footswitch is Delay On/Of / Engage, Right Footswitch triggers new Tremolo Seed / Sequence.
So a uniquely randomised fluttery Dual / Triple Tremolo Delay. Where the 4 LED’s let you see the Tremolo Pattern as to how it hits across those 3 Tremolo Points.
This is another rare delay - I’m certainly considering it. To date I have Darko’s Young Hears unit - which is also excellent.
This is for sure a really cool variant - and well-priced at €219 on the Polarbear Effects Webstore.
I’m a little sad that Darko has seemingly abandoned the Compact format of enclosures now - versus favouring the vertical mid-sized 1590BB format - albeit those are excellent too - but just take up a little more real estate - so not quite as easy to fit in.
I’m also a little behind on Polarbear Effects at the moment - as there are a few of those that I want to add - inluding the new version of Drowner. But as ever it’s all about the opportunity cost - and I have a lot of traction elsewhere.
