This is one of the simplest pedal post I’ve done to date. The MKIV Retrovibe simply adds a second footswitch - for Tap Tempo and Ramping. Making its flagship uni-vibe pedal more dynamic. The expression port allows you to control the Speed with an expression pedal.
For this update JAM have also flipped the orientation from 1590BB Vertical to 1590BB Horizontal - which probably makes it less likely for me to get this. I rather liked the previous pedal-friendly format of this pedal. This one is two steps forward and one step back for me really.
I’ve learned never to say never - and the former edition was on my wishlist, albeit not a particularly high priority. We’ll see if I eventually succumb to this new version.
Controls - Depth, Chorus / Vibrato, Speed, Bypass Footswitch, Tap Temping / Ramping Footswitch.
JAM are of course known for their fuller flavour - but it comes here at a relatively high price. My favourite sounding uni-vibe to date is the Formula B Vintage Vibe, while my overall favourite is the super potent DryBell Vibe Machine. The JAM Pedals Retrovibe is one of the best too - but I don’t yet have a version of that!
The Retrovibe MKIV will set you back €449 / $449 / £389 and equivalent - available now from the JAM Pedals Webstore and widely at International Dealers!
