Buzzing Bugs' Bolster Dual Fuzz is a massive-sounding dual fuzz named after the Cornish giant Bolster and continuing Buzzing Bugs' Cornish Legends series.
It combines a 3×2N5088 Tone Bender MKII–style high‑gain silicon transistor fuzz (5 knobs: Gain, Tone (Muff EQ), Master, Shift (Input gain), Volts/Starve; ON footswitch) with a one‑knob op‑amp, speaker‑destroying “More” fuzz (More/Master; More footswitch). The transistor side spans drive to searing high gain; More adds weapons‑grade output.

The Bolster Dual Fuzz consists of a 3 x 2N5088 Transistor Tone Bender MKII adjacent High Gain Fuzz on one side, and a single knob OpAmp Speaker-destroying Fuzz on the other side. The 5-knob Transistor Fuzz has an enormous gain range from drive and fuzzy-drive through to fairly searing high gain fuzz - and then when you add the More Fuzz in - you kind of blow the doors off - in the best possible sense.
All the finesse is on the first channel, while the More Channel - comes in somewhat high-octane via that single Master control.
It’s a great take on fuzz - giving you weapons-grade output on top of classic tones - depending on exactly how you want to deploy it.

I really like the look and sound of this one, and love a slice of local lore - where this Bolster continued the Cornish Legends series for Buzzing Bugs.
The Bolster Dual Fuzz is fantastic value at £179 from the Buzzing Bugs Store - available right now for preorders, and shipping from the 1st of May. I will definitely be coming for one of these soon. I already have a number of priorities piled up for May - so we’ll see how that month rolls out - it could happen then - but there’s quite a few pedals already in the queue!
A great follow up to the Stargazy Reverb - and no doubt both of those pair superbly - Reverb always goes nicely with Fuzz - especially transistor pre-amp driven Reverb!
