"Legend has it that when the Devil crossed the Tamar river into Cornwall, he saw what Cornish folk would put into a pie and hastily turned back, in case he might end up as their next meal!"
This of course references that very classic but slightly odd Stargazy Pie which has Pilchards Heads poking out of the pastry, and is traditionally consumed on Tom Bawcock’s Eve, a festival held annually on the 23rd of December.
In any case - the Stargazy Reverb is a 7-knob preamp-driven shimmery concoction - with the main big Feedback knob yielding anything from long-lasting, almost infinite shimmer, through to a wildly oscillating wall of noise/
Controls - Infinity : Feedback / Oscillation / Shimmer / Wall of Noise, Wet Mix, Load (Reverb Gain : Clean to Grating Shimmer), Master Volume, Body : Signal Fullness / Input Gain, Preamp Gain : Sparkling Cleans > Growling Fuzz, Tone : Classic OD EQ, ∞ Infinity Foorswitch, On/Bypass Footswitch.
Key Features :
The Stargazy Reverb is very aptly named for the sake of its shimmery output which with Load and Gain raised high gets really textured - with a wide range of output from a Clean Shimmer to a Gritty / Fuzzy Growl.
The ∞ Infinity Footswitch really allows you to kick the Reverb up a level - and edge into more textural and shoe-gazy - as well as stargazy territory. Dan has delivered a really cool effect here - where the artwork beautifully connects it to that Cornish Floklore.
The Stargazy Reverb is already open for orders on the Buzzing Bugs Webstore, where it goes for a very reasonable £179 (c$€229).
