This has officially been my longest chase to-date - where I’ve been chasing this pedal / circuit since 2016 - when I got back into guitar and launched Guitar Pedal X. This Gemini III was initially launched in May of 2011 - so by the time I caught wind in 2016 - the price had trebled to $1,000 and above. In fact whenever I came across one of these they were always listed at well over and above $1,000 - some even over $2,000 and equivalent.
The fact that I now own this #06/15 edition has much to do with my friend Ian Pittam (Gigahearts) who was the one tho first spotted it for sale on Rich Tone Music - going for just £349 - which is an absolute bargain for one of these. The pedal looked a little battered in the photo - there seemed to be some scuffs and scratches - but it proved just to be a very dirty grimy pedal. Once I had cleaned and polished it up - it looked pristine! Which means that its ’Excellent’ condition made it worth a whole lot more. I’m so glad to have finally snagged one of these - and it wouldn’t have happened without my friend Ian!
As mentioned this is number #06/15 - or the 6th of the 15 Blue Editions (Blue Enclosure, Blue LED). That one is dated early 2012, where I believe overall 160 Gemini III Dual Fuzz Generators were built.

In allegorical bus-like fashion - this is the 2nd Gemini III type I acquired within a space of just a few days - as my Coriolis Effects Grissom Young Dual Fuzz II had just landed a few days before. I am wholly delighted to have those 2 now - which feature all the same key parts - Transistors, Diodes, and Transformer. With the key differences on the newer model being fully granular Mini Pot Gain controls, along with handy pedalboard-friendly top-mounted jacks. So I've pretty much gone overnight from having zero - to having 2. And even though the second one is from a different brand - I will still include it within my Spaceman collection - as it is the exact same core circuit in every significant way!

The addition of those 2 Gemini III types - brings my Spaceman FX Fuzz Collection - up to a grand total of 11. The only significant variety I don't yet have is the WOW Signal Alien Fuzz Communicator - for which there are somewhat split reviews. Would be nice to add that one for sake of completion - but those 2 listed are way too dear - and way beyond the threshold of optimal acquisition!
Here below you can see my Spaceman Effects Fuzzes to date in all their glory - let me know if you think I should add the Wow Signal - and bring the total up to a well rounded dirty dozen!
UPDATE - while I was writing this - Spaceman released an NOS Silicon variant of the Sputnik I - which of course I have to have in the Blue Edition - which is only available from dealers - but not quite yet mostly!
