This circuit was supposedly based on the Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2 Professional Fuzz Machine - which was in essence just another re-badged Shin-ei / Univox Super-Fuzz that Jamie got his hands on. The original run of this EQD Pedal lasted from 2015 to 2018. And it’s long been a target for me - but the price / condition / timing factor had never quite hit properly until now.

I love the fact that EQD are reissuing their past glories - I still have a few more EQD Fuzzes tp get - based on my target list from 2020 (as below!) - I have a few different ones from the visual - while the Erupter, Park Fuzz Sound, and Terminal Fuzz still remain to be acquired (even though the Park is in a similar category to the Black Ash!). For the Erupter I would ideally like one of the custom editions - like the Purple one pictured below, if it was just a matter of getting the standard orange variety that would have happened already - but I’m holding out for a more unique and striking edition. I did a recent sweep through Reverb and Ebay - and there is no custom Erupter, just a couple of Terminal Fuzzes, and of course plenty of Park Fuzzes - which are still in the catalogue. Should not be too long until I have versions of each of the 9 below - I will post another update then!

Controls - Tone, Voice (Clipping) : 1 Germanium / 3 Open / 2 Silicon, Fuzz, Level.

Quite a different topology to the typical Super-Fuzz - with the particularly notable 3-way clipping option section.

Jamie has captured the soumd of the original fuzz but then smootherd off some of its more wayward edges - for an entirely better-behaved category of Super-Fuzz - which offers far more shape-ability and more rounded range.

I typically love all Super-Fuzzes and their derivations - where I currently have around 30 varieties already in the reference collection - so this Fuzz Master General has already been a target for me for a good 5 years or more - I'm glad I held out and didn't buy one of the those rather more pricey secondhand ones from the first run!

I have already pre-ordered mine from Andertons - here's hoping they don't mess up the despatch - their comms have been a little bit intermittent of late! The Legacy Fuzz Master General is $179 in the USA, and £189 from Andertons! Andertons states that those will be in stock tomorrow Friday - but a lot of the incoming US stuff has been delayed on the way in - and we can end up waiting a few weeks to get things in. Those Barber pedals for instance took month to get into Andertons for whatever reason.

Apparently Canadians can buy direct from the EarthQuaker Devices Reverb.Com Store - that store as limited shipping options!

I note that as of writing this I got a notification to say that these are already in stock at Juno.co.uk - where they are a couple of quid less. Sometimes you're better on holding off on the pre-orders - while sometimes - like with the MXR Rockman X100 - I underestimated the demand - and the first batch was gone before I realised how popular it was.

There's only 1,600 of these to go around the world - which means just a few hundred in the UK - I'm cool in any case that my order has already been placed - while I briefly forgot that Juno stock EQD and might have them in stock sooner!

In any case I should have mine by around the start of next week - probably give or take a few days! As long as the Anderson's notices are accurate - which they in fact haven't really been of late - much to my frustration - they used to be more reliable and faster on the uptake - while they're increasingly rarely first to get stock in nowadays - bar of course unique ranges that they have jurisdiction over!
