So we now have the official release of the Standard V2 Editions - following on from the V2 Anniversary variants. Both contain the exact same new V2 version of the circuit - just in a different livery. There are still some of the Anniversary Edition available - so you kind of have a choice in how you want your V2 G-Series pedals to look!
I own all 3 of the originals - and I really like all of them - actually with the G4 being my favourite. It’s somewhat galling that I need to collect them all over again. It all seems very recent - but I completed the set in June of 2019. These hold the same $229 price tag and are very decent value.
The main outward differences between the original and V2 series are the added pinstripe and the smaller more corporately consistent logo. I actually really love the look of the original - and I’m not sure this new edition looks quite as appealing - at least outwardly. Internally quite a lot has been enhanced - resulting in a marked improvement in the articulation and texture of each of those pedals.
As I said - I loved the originals - and am looking to get these new ones in too - but it’s a significant investment (£657) - while obviously obsoleting those 3 previous favourites of mine. I will likely get them in one at a time - starting with my favourite G4 variant.
These are already in stock at REVVamplification.com and for some North American Dealers - while they’ve seemingly yet to arrive in Europe. I acquired all my original 3 direct from REVV - as those weren’t stocked in the UK at the time of release. There’s a few UK REVV Dealers now - and I will likely get my 3 from Andertons - while I will try to acquire them semi-opportunistically. I always feel some sort of upgrade path should be offered for customers who have the full set already in the original format.
