Another smarty rolled out Warm Audio Device - albeit a tiny bit clunky for me - while you can’t dispute its exceptional feature set. The 4 knobs per channel are the KOT controls - where typically the Presence is internal to that pedal. While on my JHS 4-Star Modded Edition - the Presence Trimmers have been externalised as knobs, as have the voicing switches - allowing you to change between Boost, Overdrive and Distortion for each channel.
So my version of KOT has the Presence Knobs and Main Voicing Switch in common with this TOT. While the Throne of Tone adds an FX / Insert Loop - so you can deploy 4-cable-method and split off each channel.
You also get a Channel Order switch, another for King (KOT) / Blue (Breaker), and a 3rd switch of High / Log Gain Mode. Making the Throne of Tone and exceptionally capable and versatile pedal
Controls - 2 x } Volume, Gain, Tone, Presence, King (KOT) / Blue (Breaker) Voicing Switch, Distortion / Boost / OD Mode, High Gain / Low Gain switch, Channel Footswich. Also Channel Order switch.
It’s all very familiar territory - and overall leans a little more into the KOT versus the BluesBreaker.
I’m broadly satisfied with the feature set here. While the device looks a little clunky in its overall format. While it does have a highly distinct chassis.
If you can handle the size of this pedal, then there is much to recommend it. Dimensions are 127mm W x 171mm H x 67mm D - versus 119mm x 94mm x 34mm, with the BluesBreaker at 110mm x 147mm x 67mm.
So Dimensions are on the larger side - but the pricing is very decent @ $229. Available for orders now on the Warm Audio Webstore.
It looks to be a well engineered device - while not necessarily the most pedalboard-friendly unit. But it does come with a significant amount of extras. You will need to decide whether the unit meets your criteria. I have plenty of options for KOT now in the collection - including the much more compact Chase Bliss Brothers AM - and of course the JHS 4-Star Modded KOT, and the V2 Coriolis Hail to the King - to name a few.
If you don’t have any of those, and your pedalboard can accommodate the Throne of Tone - then by all means go for it - it seems a very capable candidate. While knowing Warm Audio - it won’t necessarily be using the same Rare NOS components that are in the King of Tone in particular.
