REVV Amplification extracts the more useful half of its Shawn Tubbs Signature Tilt Overdrive into the stand-alone Tilt Boost
Lots of us liked much about the recent Shawn Tubbs Signature Tilt Overdrive - but overall the pedal was a touch large, and the Drive side possibly somewhat indistinctive.
Most of us loved the smart Boost Side of the pedal - with the titular Tilt EQ function and smart 3-way EQ enhance section. For the Tilt Boost REVV have added a further ’Drive’ toggle-switch which renders core Boost, and a new Drive clipping voicing. REVV describe this as :
"A new Drive Switch allows you to engage a fat overdriven tone reminiscent of Shawn’s favourite setting on the full-sized Tilt Overdrive. Perfect for putting your solo over the top, or giving you a bolder, brasher always-on voice."
Controls - Boost Level / Degree, Tilt EQ, Drive : Drive / Boost, Tight : Top Shelve / Full Boost / Top Boost + Low Cut.
Essentially you start off by selecting Drive or Boost Modes, and then apply the broad Tilt EQ you want - finally refined by one of the 3 Tight settings - could not be easier really.
This now becomes one of the best Boost pedals out there - while it doesn't quite challenge my Thorpy Heavy Water 3-in-1 as you can rapidly apply 3 different modes via footswitch - while on the Tilt Boost you need to adjust mostly by hand.
