So JHS have deliberately gone a little off-the-piste ’nasty’ here - where these monophonic effects glitch out in interesting ways when you try to play more than one note at a time. Even single notes can glitch out every now and again.
I already have a few pedals that cover similar ground - often using a CMOS chip at the heart. Some of the most fearsome of those can become pretty untameable - depending on how fine you set the input sensitivity.
Controls - Volume, Dry/Wet Mix, Oct-, Oct+.
I quite like these kinds of effects - where they are decidedly an acquired taste for most players.
I’m still considering whether I really need this, it’s certainly not a priority pedal for me - but could be fun as a nice-to-have. Both the recent JHS pedals are not quite essential for me - and have a lower acquisition priority currently.
While I will probably land them both eventually - it will need to be an opportunistic acquisition with some form of discount applied hopefully.
Certainly an interesting departure for JHS. I’m not sure this will become a bestseller - but it’s an interesting addition to that brand’s output!
