It’s been a while now since the NOTADÜMBLË was retired - owing to a mistake that was made in the core production run - where somehow the schematics for the rare BBC-1 Dumble Boost got mixed up with the better known ’A Box Later’ boost - in fact both used by John Mayer, but the ’A Box Later’ Boost was supposed to be the one on the pedal - and instead we go the rarer BBC-1 - which is equally excellent, and I still really like - to the extent that I’m not in the slightest bit bothered that the BBC-1 was the one that came with the pedal rather than the intended ’A Box Later’.
I actually really like mine - and use both channels about equally, and did indeed consider getting someone to modify it - along the same lines that Cosmodio Instruments has devised. I’m not sure there is anyone who specialises in that in the UK. It’s a little complicated to send your pedal to the US for modification - the costs really pile up quick. And it’s all slightly moot now as Cosmodio have paused their waitlist for a period.
So while supplies of the original have dried up, Blammo has sensed an opportunity - and has created its own compact take - kind of based on the Cosmodio Deluxe Mod - where we get a 6-knob design - and where you can stack the channels in the same way as with the Cosmodio Mods. There’s a huge advantage of price for the Blammo (versus original unit + Mods) - particularly for the TNYDÜMBLË preorders - where you’re essentially sort of getting the Deluxe edition in a Compact enclosure with handy top-mounted jacks for just $155. Meaning the Blammo is the most practical version you can buy - in fact the only one you can buy right now, and comes fully assembled and ready for your board.
For me the compact dimensions and top-mounted jacks make a difference, as does the overall enhanced and extended circuit. I’m quite happy keeping my original JHS one unadulterated, and then buying the Deluxe version in the guise of the Blammo TNYDÜMBLË. Where I have put in a pre-order for the TNYDÜMBLË - which is due to ship sometime in September!

The original 2-Channel NOTADÜMBLË - with a Dumble Drive on one Channel, and the BBC-1 Boost on the other. Here it's an either or situation - you can't stack the two sides - you select one or the other. Bost sides are pretty great. The BBC-1 Boost is pretty cool and distinct. And while the Dumble Drive / ODS side is not quite has hi-fidelity as on some of my other Dumble Drives - it's still pretty excellent, and highly usable! I'm really glad I own this one - I would have preferred it in a dual-footswitch compact edition, but the original format is very cool, and it was a lot of fun to asemble!

So Cosmodio has 2 different Mod options for the NOTADÜMBLË - firstly it moves the 2-way toggle to a second footswitch, then it gives you the option to stack the 2 channels - in both directions. The Deluxe Mod includes a further 6th Presence knob - as pictured. These are highly compelling additional Mods to the NOTADÜMBLË - which I long considered for myself. I also tried to find someone in the UK tht could do similar work, but didn't put too much effort into that. Which is just as well, as Blammo has really delivered the optimal version for my preferences!

This one seem to be fairly similar to Cosmodio's Deluxe Mod - but in a compact edition with top mounted jacks - consisting of a mix of THT and SMT parts - in order to fit that format. We get a very similar topology to the Deluxe Cosmodio Mod - but where the 6th knob is labelled 'Color' rather than 'Presence' - so I'm currently not clear as to whether that is equivalent to the Presence of the Cosmodio Mod - or some slightly different EQ. In any case - this versions is spot-on for my preferences - and in this format is likely to get more use on my board. It's been a few days since I pre-ordered it - and I should get it in theory before the ned of September!
This TNYDÜMBLË is on pre-order at the moment with a preferential price - $155 vs $180 official launch price, ships in September, and there is no demo yet!
