Red Panda Lab's new multi-mode stereo Radius is probably the most potent Ring Modulator and Frequency Shifter currently out there

Red Panda Lab never do things by halves and here have hewn a most mighty ring modulator. My good friend Henry Kaiser, who is something of a Ring Mod connoisseur, has actual had one of these for a while and really loves it. He speaks very highly of the Dr Scientist Phreak too - which he acquired similarly early.

To date I’ve not really gotten into Ring Modulation, and the only pedal of that type I own to date is the cool Pigtronix Ring Master Analog Multiplier. I’ve long intended to get into Ring Modulation - which I understand is mostly used in combination with gain effects - and sounds great with Overdrive, Distortion, and Fuzz in particular.

I’ve had the DOD Gonkulator on my wishlist for a while - but it’s never been a priority - as Ring Modulation is possibly my least favoured of modulations. I have sizeable libraries for other modulation effect - but Ring Mod hasn’t fully gripped my yet. When that bug does strike - then I will obviously have 3 pedals on my wishlist!

Red Lab’s Radius is a fantastic ambassador for this genre - which is very much a ’minority sport’ and acquired taste to a degree. I will surely circle around to this genre as a focus - once I’ve crossed off my various priorities. I feel that 2024 is going to be a year for Tremolos somewhat though!
