9 cool pedal designs - each with proprietary custom designed knobs

3 elements inform this particular curated selection of pedals. Firstly these are all distinctive and striking designs of pedals - and some of these are absolutely at the top of that form. Also these all have unique proprietary designs of knobs exclusive to those brands, and finally all 9 of these are from my own Pedals Reference Collection!

Ever since I published my ’101 Pedal Knobs’ article back in 2019 (pictured below) I have been championing the creation of unique knobs for each brand - and several have taken up my challenge in intervening years. The mainstream adoption of 3D-Printing is leading to more and more unique knobs being created in that manner. My good friend Joe Halliday at Hello Sailor Effects is about to embark on such a journey soon. And it would be incredibly helpful for my friend Daniel Thornhill at Fjord Fuzz as he currently pays $25 for each of the large knobs on his Midnattssol Fuzz-Vibe. I feel that 3D-Printing will very soon become the leading means of producing custom pedal knobs. Interestingly, I’ve always thought that Origin Effects’s knobs were unique to that brand, but they did not create the design, and those knobs are actually acquired from China. I can’t recall if they have some special deal on those - but they do seem to be the only obvious bran using those particular styles of knobs! I wasn’t sure they qualified for this ’proprietary’ selection though.
