Key Points
Electronic Audio Experiments' Traynor Bass Amp–derived Greathammer Overdrive delivers 50 decibels of killer low-end tone. The first batch sold out everywhere, including Joe’s Pedals (UK).
Controls: Level; Gain (50 dB); Mids — Flat / Full Mid Cut / Slight Mid Cut; Bass; Attack (Pre‑Gain Tone / Sharpness / Bite). It works on bass and guitar.
As of 2026-07-13, the price was £249 at Joe’s Pedals; EAE's webstore typically lists it at $249. The reviewer came too late for batch one and will wait for batch two, expected within a couple of months.
I came too late to this very recently released pedal - whose first batch is sold out everywhere - including at my good friend’s Joe’s Pedals in the UK.
I’m typically a fan of thunderously Bassy Overdrives - and this is one of the most formidable - with 50 Decibels of Gain onboard and a really Smart Control Topology for maximum impact.
Controls - Level, Gain (50dB), Mids : Flat Mids / Full Mid Cut / Slight Mid Cut, Bass, Attack (Pre-Gain Tone / Sharpness / Bite).
I think I would have snapped one of these up if I had gotten there in time. I’m happy to wait for batch 2 though - and will need to let Joe know that I’m after one of these.
The Greathammer Bass / Bassy Overdrive works great on Bass and Guitar, and is typically $249 on the Electronic Audio Experiments Webstore, and £249 at Joe’s Pedals - when available - expect a new batch within a couple of months or so - hopefully sooner!
I will look to snag one of these when they are next in stock! The Greathammer sounds mighty!
