The RoomMate D’luxe was announced at NAMM, where the Fuzztopia was out late last year - where I did not manage to fit it into my schedule.

It seems very timely now since the RoomMate D’luxe is in the same format - and those 2 pedal pair very well together. 

The RoomMate D’luxe delivers 8 x Tube saturated Modes covering off all the main Reverb food groups - Room, Hall, Plate and Shimmer Hall.

And the Fuzztopia Dual Channel Fuzz + Distortion is fairly distinct for having separate Dry ...

The last time I covered Andy’s Rig - he was rocking the Neunaber Immerse Reverb - so presumably that has been knocked off the board - by this Nocturne.

You have two rather conventional Modes - Plate, and Spring Reverb - finely honed by Robert over the years. And then we have a unique Nocturne Reverb voicing - which is derived from Andy’s Halo Echo - and reimagined as an ethereal, immersive Reverb.

SHOKR Pedals is Newbridge, Ireland native Dan O’Shaugnessy - who has previous form with his earlier A-51 EFX brand - which consisted of pedals like the Uranus Boost, Plasmodial Slime Bass Overdrive, and Warped Worm Distortion.

He felt he had kind of boxed himself in a little with the A-51 EFX Brand, and wanted to pivot in a different fresher, and more modern direction. So it made sense to launch a new brand - SHOKR Pedals - for which the KRUSH Fuzz-Verb is its launch pedal.

Another super busy month - where the lack of a holiday is really starting to impact my wellbeing - as I’m about as shattered and burned out as is possible without going entirely into meltdown - I’m teetering on the edge!

Here follow the highlights of the month - which I normally try to limit to around 10 elements - but stand at 12 for September. No show or onside attendances this month - while plenty of other activities - and some killer releases of course!

In fact that Spring Reverb algorithm appears on 3 different Fjord Fuzz pedals in order - the MIME II, Dovre and this 4-controls Fjær - each of those have different preamps onboard - so they each have differences in output nuances. Where for me the Fjær sounds particularly lush!

As mentioned - the Fjær benefits from 4 controls - Dry, Wet, Size and Tone. I’ve mostly been deploying that with the Dry slider in the middle, Wet is all the way up, Size is @ Noon, and Tone is @ Noon. It can sound ...

I own a fairly significant number of Reverb Pedals - where I’m mostly focused on Workstation style Pedals with multiple algorithms. I normally have at least 2 Reverbs on the board - a Primary Multi-Verb, and a Secondary more Specialist Verb. Occasionally I have a 3rd Reverb - which can be another Stereo Secondary, or more likely a Mono Tertiary. In fact I can have as many as 4 Reverbs on the board - as the Eventide H90 is always there too!

The Oceans Abyss takes over from the Oceans 12 as EHX’s flagship Reverb Workstation.
