The SIXTY8 was one of Lawrence Petross’s first officially branded pedals. That materialised back in 2016 originally. Early versions had a ’Gain’ push-button - which presumably allowed you to flip between Green and Red channels early on - before that featured was incorporated into the footswitch.
I’ve long toyed with getting one of the SIXTY8 pedals - but that was Lawrence’s only Marshall pedal with just 2-band EQ. I’ve
always felt that a MIAB type really needs the full 3-Band EQ. In fact in this limited edition we get 4-Band EQ including Presence.
I have a number of active LPD targets with the JMP79. Bedlum, and Lucent all on the list. While the limited nature of this SIXTY8X puts that at the front of the line.
We’re lucky to have a UK LPD dealer in my friend Steve @ FX Pedal Planet - hopefully he will get this one in stock soon - I’ve got a bit of catching up to do here!
Controls - Treble, Middle, Bass, Level, Presence, Gain, Hold Bypass Footswitch for 300ms to flip between Green and Red Channels. Internal trimmer allows you to adjust the balance between the two channels!
Lawrence is very much seen as a Marshall specialist - with at least 4 distinct variations across those classic amps. For many Marshall tone fans he is the first port of call.
This SIXTY8X Limited Edition goes for $240 on the LPD Webstore - so presumably around £240 when it reaches these shores and FX Pedal Planet!
