So my good friend Joe Light at Joe’s Pedals has had a number of new Lastgasp Art Laboratories pedals into stock (5 in total I believe) - which I will feature in an article tomorrow (albeit some are sold out already).
There were two of my long-term Lastgasp targets in that selection - the Lluna Oscillo Fuzz Drive and Deviltail Deathtortion - both of which I felt obliged to pick up. The first of those - the LLuna features here now, and the Deviltail will likely feature on Wednesday. My first mission for Lastgasp is to pick up all those compact varieties - before I then move onto some of the larger more extended range candidates!
Controls - Level, Tone, Volt (Starve >), Gain/Oscillation.
The Lluna is a phenomenon - it may even be my favourite Lastgasp to date - it really sounds immense - has a fantastic livewire sear on it and gorgeous strident harmonics - and the feedback oscillation is just superb.
Here below is my compact Lastgasp target list to date - where I just have the Tone Axe and Toxic Plant to go to achieve that full house!
My first 2 Lastgasps came from Effect Boutique, and my last 5 have come from Joe’s Pedals.

There are 3 major global dealers for Lastgasp - Joe's Pedals as mentioned, my friend Andy Ebsen's Effect Boutique in Germany, and of course Perfect Circuit in the USA - the latter 2 have the full range, while Joe's Pedals has a selection of 14 - which fortunately includes the vast majority - and certainly all the more popular ones!
The Lluna is a really full-on and properly loud fuzz pedal - just like I like my effects! It has very unique potency and stridency - with so much volume onboard - the most fun Lastgasp to-date for me - and one of my favourite fuzzes now too!
I of course got my Lluna from Joe's Pedals in the UK - where it's priced @ £189. Hopefully Joe can order some more of those in relatively quickly - as they've been snapped up already as has the Hachikyu Shiki Kebadate Hizumaseki DualOscillo Fuzz!
The Lluna is really easy to dial in - where of course more Voltage Drop / Starve needs to be compensated by more Level too.
My favourite settings for the Lluna are Level and Tone @ Noon typically, Volt at circa 1 o'c, and Gain just into the Oscillation at around 2 o'clock. That sounds so good - and delivers instant satisfaction for me!
