Diamond Pedals reissues its 2017 F‑Octave as a 2025 edition, adding an LPF (soft highs roll‑off) to the original Level, Fuzz and Tone controls plus the OCT toggle.
Controls and behavior: Level, Fuzz, LPF, Tone, OCT Off/On — OCT Up = fuzz only; OCT Down = fuzz + upper octave. Tone ±6 dB at 750 Hz; LPF at 2 kHz ±3 dB. The pedal includes a Highs Cut/Boost switch for managing the extra highs octave fuzz produces.
Build and power: top‑mounted jacks, soft‑touch relay switching, True Bypass, hand‑made in Montreal. Powered by 9–18 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1 mm, ~20 mA). As of 2026-07-13, the price was £225. For power or servicing, consult a qualified tech.
I had noted that the 2017 F-Octave editions were fetching quite high prices on Reverb.com - relatively speaking of course . So Diamond in their wisdom have decided to reissue this well loved upper octave fuzz.
The original version had 3 knobs and the Octave toggle switch - while this new 2025 edition has one additional control by way of an extra Low Pass Filter Control (Soft Highs Roll-off). With the original’s Level, Fuzz and Tone controls retained. The earliest of those were released in raw grey enclosures - before they then adopted that iconic purple hue!
Controls - Level, Fuzz, LPF, Tone, OCT : Off/On.
An upper octave fuzz generates a lot of high frequencies - which is why we have both the roll-off, and the Highs Cut and Boost switch.
Obviously with the OCT switch UP you’re just getting the core Fuzz voicing, in the Down position it engages the Upper Octave.
Since there is seemingly some latent demand for the original - means that Diamond are hoping that some of that interest carries over to this new version - which comes in a that attractive purple colourway (now with a different gold yellow accent colour!) - it will surely deliver a visually Impactful pairing with the Vibrato. I’m a sucker for Octave Fuzzes - and I will surely look to add this to the reference collection at some stage.
As far as I’m concerned the F-Octave is back and better, and I will for sure look to get it at some stage - that’s definitely my next Diamond!
The F-Octave goes for $2295 / €259 / £225 and equivalent on the Diamond Pedals Webstore - and should be imminently available at leading dealers!
