My close association with Thorpy started back in late September of 2018 - at the now defunct Olympia UK Guitar Show. He was the first pedal maker I reached out to, and the first I connected with.
Since then ThorpyFX Pedals have become my 3rd most populous selection after Boss and Drunk Beaver. Those 3 brands alone contribute over 200 pedals to my reference collection!
The fact that I’m now at 31 ThorpyFX Pedals is a major milestone - and features every mainline MKII pedal Thorpy has made. Readers will know I’m not too keen on over-sized pedals - and so I skipped out on the EAO and Old Timer - I just would not deploy them enough - and I’m all about playing pedals - not collecting shelf-ware!
My first pedal was the original size Fallout Cloud - where I had waited a long time for Thorpy to shrink down his pedals - I had campaigned hard for a while - but thought Thorpy was never going to do that. So I bought one of the oversized pedals - only for Thorpy to introduce is more compact range a few weeks later - so I had to swap the larger version for the smaller one - and lost some money in that transition - although Andertons were really quite generous at the time. This is before I was arranging pedals directly from Thorpy HQ.
The Thorpy Pedal that’s been on the board the longest - is the Heavy Water - which I have championed for years. Right at this minute there are 4 Thorpy Pedals on the board - the aforremeniton Heavy Water - and the 3 new ones for me - inclucing the Fat General. The J, and The Redacted. In June of 2022 I had a Thorpy Pedal Chain Month - where there were 14 pedals on the board back then,
I also did a Boss Month back in the day - Thorpy and Boss are 2 of the relatively few brands which can handle most of the slots. Obviously Thropy has no Spatial Effects yet - while I’m told there is a delay on the way - so I look forward to hearing that.
A-Z by product name! :
These pedals were mostly acquired direct from ThorpyFX since from 2018 as mentioned. Before buying direct I bought a couple from Andertons - including my first slightly oversized Fallout Cloud - which they then allowed me to swap for the smaller version - I had to send through nearly 20 pics to prove that the pedal was still in pristine conditions. And I made a significant loss on the trade - but it could have been a lot worse.
ThorpyFX remains one of my favourite brands - they have a lot in common with my other favourite Boss - with unique signature enclosures, and super robust and reliable construction.
These are the Best of British as far as I’m concerned - and should be celebrated by all - even though some of these can be a little pricey! All 31 are excellent - while of course I have my favourites!

Controls - Level, Attack / Gain, Feed / Volts, Mode : 3-Transistors / 2-Transistors, Tone : Dark > Bright, Tone Bypass Footswitch, Main Bypass Footswitch.
One of my all-time favourite fuzzes, and for sure my most favoured Thorpy Fuzz. I famously did the above 6 x Presets Visual - which has appeared all over the place - without credit. This in my opinion is the greatest Muti-Bender made to date - which covers you brilliantly for all 6 key Tone Bender Variants / Flavours!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-bunker-drive-pedal-1
Controls - Volume, Drive. Texture / Degree of Intermodulation Distortion, Mode - Subtle Texture EQ Shift : Top = Slight High-End Focus, Mid = Neutral, Down = Low-End Accent, Tone, Main Bypass Footswitch, Sauce Tone Bypass Footswitch / Boost.
I frequently debate the Bunker vs Gunshot comparison with Thorpy - for me the Bunker is more JCM800 - particularly with the Texture control dialled back. While for Thorpy - The Gunshot is the JCM800, and The Bunker is the Plexi. I get lower gain and better Plexi sounds on the Gunshot - and better JCM800 sounds with the Bunker - it really depends on where the key Gain and Texture controls are pointed. The Gunshot for me is definitely the better Plexi - whether intentional or not - and The Bunker delivers that perfect focused sear - that I always associate with core JCM800 tonality. In any case - both are great Marshall-style Overdrive / Distortions - as is the Electric Lightning!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-camoflange-flanger
Controls - Harmonics, Treble, Blend | Manual (Delay Time), Depth | Rate.
Still a top tier bright and sparkly original Electric Mistress style Flanger - one of my very favourites alongside the PastFX quintet, and of course the Krozz Devices Airborn! One of the best ThorpyFX to date - a perennial classic!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-dane-mkii
Controls - Level, Boost, Boost typed : High Capacity (Ge Diodes) / Danish Pete (Original Smooth Dane Boost), Gain, Tone, Lows.
Pete 'Danish Pete' Honoré's celebrated signature Drive + Boost - and the current bestselling Thorpy pedal - having overtaken the Fallout Cloud now. The is amazing for Tele guitars - obviously honed to that purpose. While it's surprisingly decent for Humbuckers too - and now has both barrels of the Heavy Water onboard too. Fantastic super versatile overdrive!

Retired / Sold out!
Controls - Level, Boost, Boost typed : High Capacity (Ge Diodes) / Danish Pete (Original Smooth Dane Boost), Gain, Tone, Lows.
Identical on the inside to the stock Dane - with custom all-purple artwork. Thorpy's prettiest pedal to date for sure!

Controls - Tone, Depth, Boost, Rate,
Torpy's recently revived super choppy tremolo - based on the Vox Repeat Percussion. Now in Special Order MKII format - fantastically textured rhythmic tremolo.

Controls - Volume, Depth, Treble, Blend, Rate.
A beautiful sounding classic Analog Chorus / Vibrato. Somewhat under-the-radar and underappreciated - all the Thorpy Modulations sound great!

Controls - DRIVE } Volume, Treble, Mids, Gain, Bass, ACTIVE HIGH PASS FILTER } Boost, Lows.
Chris Buck/s excellent Plexi inspired Tube Preamp - with independent HPF Boost. A highly elegant Marshall sounding preamp - which exactly suits Chris's playing style. Not quite as expansive as some of its peers - but sounds fantastic across its range.

Controls - Intensity (Photocell Luminosity), Offset (Photocell Lit to Unlit / Dark phase Offset), Speed (Pulse / Throb Rate), Volume (Output), Vibrato / Chorus Footswitch, On / Off Footswitch.
I have the first LDR / Vactrol edition of Thorpy's Uni-Vibe. The ER-2 is very unique for a Uni-Vibe - and delivers a consistently bright output regardless of what you throw at it, It has some signficant magic about how it maintains its 'sparkle'. And its Offset control delivers some pretty unique flavours. This one delivers a very distinct output profile - quite different to most of my other Uni-Vibes.

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-fat-general-parallel-compressor-copy
Controls - Treble, Sustain, Mode : Blend - 0-100% Parallel Comp to Dry Mix / Juicy 90% Comp / 10% Dry Mix, Balance = % Parallel Comp Blend with Dry / Juicy 90:10 Volume.
My most recently acquired Thorpy pedal - and straight on the board. A very simple and elegant Parallel Compressor - beautifully transparent - just how I like it. Really sounds excellent - warm and very neutral. I normally go for more full-featured compressors - but this one really works a treat! A great every day compressor.

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-fallout-cloud-fuzz
Controls - Sustain, Volume, Treble, Bass.
Originally the Muffroom Cloud - but then changed to Fallout Cloud after EHX got involved! That sort of V2 Fallout Could was my first Thorpy Pedal. I had waited a long time in the hopes that Thropy would shrink the slightly oversized enclosure. In fact Thorpy announced the MK2 - just a few weeks after I acquired the larger model - and I immediately lost money on the pedal and traded it for the smaller MK2 variant - thanks to Andertons for sorting me out there. The Fallout Cloud is a superb take on the original 1969 Triangle Big Muff - with more range. This used to be the main Thorpy bestseller - but has fairly recently been overtaken by The Dane!

Retired / Sold Out
Controls - Sustain, Volume, Treble, Bass.
The limited edition Fallout Cloud made with BC109 Transistors - essentially the early variety of the BC549's used as stock! The BC109 sounds just the tiniest bit different - with a little more gain and attack!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-field-marshal-fuzz-mkii
Controls - Tone : Dark > Bright, Mide : 0 : Off / Tone Stack Bypass | 1 : Scooped Mids | 2 : Enhanced Mids | 3 : Gated, Volume, Main Bypass Footswitch, Cheese : Tone Bypass Footswitch / Boost.
Thorpy's and Dan Coggins update of the Lovetone Big Cheese Fuzz Circuit. Modern updates - maintaining the core dynamics - but adding more volume and gain. A really potent fuzz - and the JHS Cheese Ball - which retains the vintage limitations - sound feeble in comparison to the much more potent Big Cheese - literally Chalk and Cheese. The Thorpy Field Marshal is a far superior version of of the Big Cheese!

Retired / Sold Out
No Controls - Always On.
I have to be honest and say that I have the 10 year Birthday Cake versions of the FLIR - largely for aesthetic value. I prefer my buffer pedals to be switchable (per the Sitek Cristal), while the FLIR is mostly a desk display object for me - very cute in any case! And my edition is very special - as one of if not the only Birthday Cake Edition FLIR!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-gunshot-overdrive
Controls - Gain, Volume, Tone, Calibre.
What Thorpy refers to as his JCM800 type - while for my settings I use it as a Plexi, and The Bunker is the one that sounds more like a JCM800 for me. The core tonality of the Gunshot is warmer and fatter - which for me renders much better as a mid-gain Plexi. One of Thorpy's 3 Marshall style Drive / Distortions - alongside the aformentioned Bunker, and Chris Bucks's signature Electric Lightning. Those 3 give you a great combined Marshall range - obviously the Bunker does a great Brown Source voicing too, These are all relatively mid-gain - and don't reach JVM levels of distortion - but very decent range nevertheless!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/hanami-germanium-fuzz
Controls - Level, Boost, Treble, and Bass,
Another Superb Fuzz - 'The Fallout Yard' essentially - a 4 x Germanium Transistor mix of Fallout Cloud and Bone Yard. So a Big Muff - but with Germanium Tone Bender Dynamics and Character. Really sounds superb - so richly textured - my second favourite ThorpyFX Fuzz - after the supreme Boneyard. The Hanami runs it really close though - while the Boneyard is a ouch more versatile - with those smart tonal options!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/have-blue-germanium-boost
Controls - Boost, Range.
Thorpy's 2nd Secret Project - the RangeMaster / Treble Booster side of the Germanium Veteran Fuzz. I acquired this quite a bit after I landed the Secret Project 1 Tacit Blue Germanium Fuzz Face. And now we also have the somewhat more aggressive 'Redacted' which fully captures the Germanium Veteran within a compact enclosure - both RangeMaster and Fuzz Face - but in the single enclosure. The Have Blue and Tacit Blue both use the same slightly milder transistor - and give you overall a somewhat softer profile than the Redacted - so that both are valid acquisitions. I really like both sets as such!

Retired / Sold Out.
Controls - Volume, Fuzz, Smooth (Impedance), Bias.
Thorpy's Secret Project 1 Germanium Fuzz Face - one half of the former Germanium Veteran - where the Have Blue carries the RangeMaster portion. An excellent full-range Germanium Fuzz Face with superb characterful and specially selected Transisors - also somewhat significantly different and milder sounding than the more aggressive 'Redacted' secret project pedal!

Controls - Boost 1 Level and Lows, Boost 2 Level and Lows, Boost 1 is The Dane Smooth Boost, Boost 2 is the Germanium Diodes Harmonic Boost.
My favourite Thorpy pedal ever - always on my board, and always on - mostly the Germanium Diodes Harmonic side. This pedal was in danger of being discontinued before I did my series of articles on it - and now it's on Noel Gallagher's board! A really superb 3-in-1 Boost - where most everything sounds brilliant with the Germanium Boost - and those pedals that don't sound superb with the smooth Dane Boost side.

Unique GPX x Thorpy collaboration - only 2 in existence, I have one, and the competition winner Ronald Prokes hopefully still has his too.
There is another custom Heavy Water Skelton Model - thorpyfx.com/products/special-run-damascus-steel-patterned-heavy-water-dual-high-headroom-boost?_pos=6&_sid=127cd940e&_ss=r - actually that version seems sold out now too.
Controls - Boost 1 Level and Lows, Boost 2 Level and Lows, Boost 1 is The Dane Smooth Boost, Boost 2 is the Germanium Diodes Harmonic Boost
Identical to the original, and one of the last to feature actual Germanium Didoes, latter edition feature equivalent values Schottky Diodes!

Controls - Output (Master Volume), Response (Presence), Supply (Voltage Attenuation), Normal Channel Gain, Voicing / Gain Structure : Hi - 12AX7 / Lo - 12AY7, Tone, Bright Channel Gain. On/Off Footswitch. Channel Selector Footswitch : Normal / Bright.
My favourite Thorpy Overdrive to-date - has an amazingly rich and incredible output texture - just sounds so superb - with fantastic dual-channel action. An every way amazing pedal - and a really exceptional Tweed style Preamp - based on the Lazy J 20 - a masterpiece! You might think you don't need another Tweed style preamp - but you ain't yet experienced the might of The 'J'!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-peacekeeper-low-gain-overdrive-copy
Controls - Gain, Treble, Level, Presence (sort of Upper Mids), Bass.
Before 'The J' this was my favourite Thorpy Overdrive - a super versatile all-rounder - which delivers a combination of BluesBreaker, Klon, and Timmy tones. Excellent every day workhorse - a proper chameleon of and overdrive for sure.

Retired / Sold Out
Controls - Gain, Treble, Level, Presence (sort of Upper Mids), Bass.
A special Low Gain Ge Edition of the Peacekeeper - which has extra harmonics - and a cool overblown voicing when you crank the gain. This is a somewhat more textured version of the Peacekeeper - which I feel I prefer to the original - while both are exceptional. I really like the extra harmonics and textures for this special edition - which alas is now sold out!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/pulse-doppler-analog-phaser-vibrato-trem
Controls - Enhance (Feedback/Resonance), Manual (Phase Shift Notch Filter Frequency), Depth (LFO Intensity), Blend (Dry>Wet Mix), Bi-Directional / Dual Phase Mode, Inverted Phase / HPF Tremolo / Additive Phase, Rate (LFO Speed / Frequency), Vibe/Phase Footswitch (Wet/Dry flip), Engage Footswitch.
Thorpy's excellent and versatile 4-Stage Phaser - which also does a mean pulsating tremolo. Fantastic control topology for proper extended range. Probably the most extended range 4-Stage Phaser - it really sound superb. Thorpy and Dan Coggins used some of the elements from the Lovetone Doppelgänger - in a much reduced and more pedalboard-friendly format. Really smart engineering on this one!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-special-projects/products/secret-project-5-leaked
Controls - RANGEMASTER } Range, Boost; FUZZ FACE } Smooth (Impedance), Fuzz (Gain), Volume, Bias.
Thorpy's latest Special Project - a complete version of the Germanium Veteran in singular compact enclosure. This has some super aggressive mil spec Germanium Transistors onboard - and it is significantly more aggressive than the Have Blue and Tacit Blue pairing - and somewhat more angular too! This one is only just pipped by the Boneyard and Hanami Fuzzes - the Redacted get third place! Interestingly those are all Germanium Fuzzes! Thorpy is obviously amazing for Germanium circuits - those 3 fuzzes are all superb, and super versatile,

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/scarlet-tunic
Controls - Master (Volume), Presence (Upper Mids / Amp Voicing), Gain, Bass, Deep : 1 / 0 / 2, Bright (Bite) : 1 / 0 / 2, Sens (Gain Structure) : 1 / 0 / 2, Treble.
A super versatile Overdrive / Preamp from the same Amp Emulation Family as 'The J', The Scarlet Tunic is another one of my favourite Thorpy pedals - it sounds every way excellent - and combines Selmer, Hiwatt, and Vox voicings - via a super smart Presence Control. Wonderful breakup texture too - and plenty of range. Not quite as good as the totally superb 'The J' - but pretty close in most ways. Equally versatile - while it doesn't do the Dual-Channel thing, and doesn't have quite a richly textured and distinct output profile. Still brilliant in its own way! And really great for early Pink Floyd tones!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-six-zero-vintage-fuzz-trem
Controls - FUZZ } Level, Attack, Fuzz Footswitch, TREM } Speed, Depth, Trem Footswitch
What an exceptional 60th Anniversary Collaboration with Andertons - the Fuzz Side is surely the foundation for the forthcoming Silicon Boneyard edition - which Thorpy has promised me is definitely happing - he's just not sure when. The other site has a beautifully elegant Tremolo voicing - based on a circuit Dan Coggins created as a 14 year old - that man has talent for sure! The end result and the sum total of those geniuses is a class leading Tremo-Fuzz - which is about as expressive and vibrant as the come - a great pedal for sure!

Controls - Gain (Boost 1), Volume, Treble, Mids, Bass, Additional Boost Footswitch (Boost 2), On/Off Footswitch.
The superb Uber Utility pedal is back as a Special Project! The Burr-Brown Opamp powered pedal delivers dual Boosts (Gain + Footswitch), 3-Band EQ, and a Buffer. Making this an ultimate start of chain pedal, It spent a good while on the board - but if anything sounded too pristine and high fidelity. And I actually preferred the grittier and gooier Jackson Audio Prism - while the Team Medic did serve me well in its own way - a really posed and precise pedal.

Long since retired!
Controls - Boost (Level), Range, Smooth (Impedance), Fuzz, Volume, Bias, Boost Footswitch, Fuzz Footswitch.
The 2nd Veteran Edition - after the brief and limited edition Germanium Veteran. Both these in an oversized enclosure - where the new Redaced delivers a compact Germanium version of that same circuit. I still like this firs Veteran of mine - it was he first of 3 pedals Thorpy gifted to me over the years. The second being the first of the GPX x Thorpy Heavy Water Dual Boosts - where I paid for the second one - which I kept! The final gift to me was he Low Gain Ge Peace2Keeper. I'm of course extremely grateful for all small mercies!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/the-warthog-distortion
Controls - Gain, Volume, Tone, Calibre.
Thorpy's excellent and super versatile Rat Adjacent Distortion, The Calibre control really gives this an extra dimension. And it works superbly before and after the Peace Keeper - those combine really beautifully. The combination of Gain and Calibre make this particularly extended range - it gets to places most Rat's can't reach. A really nicely engineered distortion!

thorpyfx.com/collections/thorpyfx-pedals/products/wopr
Controls - TIC TAC TOE (Silicon RangeMaster) } Range 2:30 o'c, Boost 3:30 o'c; GLOBAL THERMO NUCLEAR WAR (AtomIC Fuzz) } Sustain @ 2:45 o'c, Volume @ 1 o'c, Treble @ Max, Bass @ 12:30.
A smart combination of an OpAmp take of Thorpy's Fallout Cloud - combined with a version of the RangeMaster from the Silicon Veteran. The two sides combined sounds exceptional - while the OpAmp channel on its own could do with a little more volume for my liking. This Fuzz delivers a wide variety of different tones - touching on Classic Fuzz, Doom Distortion, and a flavour of Tone Bender even.

So as a final exercise I thought I should pick out my 10 favourite Thorpy Pedals. Kudos to those who already figured out this final selection,
Pictured and Listed in simple Alphabetical Order - everyone's a winner!
Each of these is Top Tier World-Class.
We have 4 Overdrives, 3 Fuzzes, 2 Modulations, and one Killer Boost!
