For the first time - the two Titan UK Pedal Builders combine forces to elevate the simple accousic guitar into a more vibrant era. We’ve had little evolution of the acoustic guitar since the emergence of the eclectic finger-style players like Mike Dawes.
The mission here was to make the acoustic guitar as exciting as an electric - by imbuing it with the science of wood resonant frequencies - where the properties of Rosewood and Mahogany proved to be particularly suitable for those types of guitars.
We have a whole new class of Wood-based Clipping Dowels which lend this fuzz its extraordinary tones. The Rosewood and Mahogany Clipping Dowels / Diodes render very different results - and you get access to both. You have 4 core parameter you’re able to adjust : Level, Fuzz, Capo, and Wood.
The Custom Capo is an important element here - as it delivers different wood resonances and octave up tones - depending where it’s placed on the fretboard - it also demarcates those resonant fuzz tones from the fundamentals. The Capo has very unique hardwood bumpers which render upper octave resonance.
Controls - Level, Fuzz (Gain / Intensity), Capo (amount of Transposition), Wood (Resonance / Signal Density) - Soft > Hard, Clipping Dowels : Rose (Rosewood) / Mahg (Mahogany), Left Capo Footswitch activates Transposition, Right On Footswitch activates main Fuzz.
The process of ’working’ those Wooden Clipping Dowels is ever so challenging - with incredibly few working devices having been able to be fully and properly calibrated. Such that the small number of pedals ’Thorigin’ were able to create will likely be raffled - as the fairest way to give the widest access to this rare pedal.
Even though the Thorigin Effects partnership has just been announced - it’s a well guarded industry secret - that they’ve been working together on this project for a few years now. Incredibly engineers from each company discovered those Resonant Clipping Properties at near enough exactly the same time - so it made ultimate sense for the two sides to collborate - to join forces and share resources. John from Origin and Thorpy from ThorpyFX both admit that this pedal could not have become a reality without the participation of the other party.
You need to slightly suspend belief on the workings of the Resonant Custom Capo - which uses a securely guarded hardwood to induce additional string resonance - which is needed for the full force of the Folked Up Fuzz!
As mentioned, very few of this pedal have been made - and they will most likely be auctioned - with ThorpyFX and Origin Effects generously donating the proceeds of the Raffle to Cancer Research UK!
Here below is an enlargement of the part of the circuit that features the Rosewood and Mahogany Dowels - those are incredibly sensitive to outside influences - and someone’s oily fingerprints may be enough to somewhat compromise the output function of those unique devices - so if you open the back of the pedal - be careful not to touch the Dowels!

Actually this is not an Acoustic Guitar Fuzz in the slightest - but consists rather of versions of two of Thorpy's best fuzzes - the MKI Silicon Tone Bender from the SixZero, and the Octavia Octave Fuzz from the Old Timer Special Project.
The Control Topology is actually - FUZZ Side (MKI TB Si from SixZero) : Fuzz = Level, Wood = Attack / Bias; CAPO Side (Octavia Fuzz from Old Timer) : Capo = Amount of Fuzz, Level = Octave Fuzz Volume, Octave Mode is toggle switch to the right.
It's a unique collaboration in featuring Origin Effects Knobs and Facia Plates on top of an otherwise Medium Thorpy Enclosure - similar in most regards to the one used for the Six Zero.
The Wooden Dowels are just decorative as such - they are literally just wooden plugs which serve no other purpose than making this effect appear more 'Woody' than it actually is.
This is both an April Fool's post, as well as an actual real life and unusual Thorpy Fuzz - being auctioned off with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. Raffle tickets will be One Pound or 5 Pounds a piece - and I believe 2 pedals are up for grabs as such!
So the details are as follows - 1 Pedal each to be won across 2 Competitions - with different ticket pricing and odds!:
Competition #1 - £0.99 per entry / 4999 ticket limit

Competition #2 - £4.99 per entry / 999 ticket limit

So you choose which odds and which ticket price appeals to you more - I will be buying tickets for both - with very little hope of winning - this is all for the cause!
