Key Points

Origin Effects shrank the Cali76 Stacked Compressor to the compact size of the Cali76 JFET, retaining the double dose of Cali76 Compression and providing 24V from a 9V input (previously 9/18V). Controls: Dry, Out, In, Attack/Release 2; Gold "Thru" knob marks stacked variant; Silver or Black Editions.

Built to push compression — super-squashed clean tones, endless sustain; shares DNA with discontinued SlideRIG pedals and excels on slide guitar duties. DRY control enables parallel compression.

As of 2026-07-13, price was £349; Cali76 FET Compressor was £319.

For electrical safety or opening/modifying the pedal, consult a qualified tech.

I think most of you know this one already - that classic double dose of Cali76 Compression - for those who want more flavour, and use the compressor as a special effect. The pedal has been shrunken down, and enhanced at the same time - where previously you had 9/18V power, but now get 24V from a 9V input!

Controls - Dry, Out, In, Attack/Release 2, << Thru << Attack/Release 1.

Because of the nature of the effect, you don’t get that cool floating point meter that first appeared on the Cali76 JFET. We do still retain the Gold accent ’Thru’ knob though - which is what properly marks this out as the stacked variant. And you have the choice of either Silver or Black Editions - to cater for most tastes!

Origin Effects’ John Dines writes :

"While the other Cali76 models focus on more subtle studio tones, the Cali76 Stacked Compressor is designed to push things to the extreme, for players who like to use compression as a special effect. It specialises in super-squashed clean tones and endless sustain. Sharing a lot of DNA with the now discontinued SlideRIG pedals, the highly tweakable Cali76 Stacked Compressor also excels on slide guitar duties. To balance out the ludicrous amounts of compression on offer, there’s a DRY control for achieving parallel compression, adding some of your guitar’s natural dynamics back into the mix."

The pricing of the device stays the same, as these are still the highest quality engineered effects, with all premium parts, and with a number of enhancements made for this edition. Pricing is @ £349 GBP | $419 USD (ex. Tax) | €355 EUR (ex. Tax), where the Cali76 Fet Compressor for both Guitar and Bass is priced @ £319 and equivalent. All can of course be acquired direct from the Origin Effects Webstore.

The Cali76 Stacked Compressor seems to ne very highly valued, and appears on almost as many boards as the Cali76 FET.

There aren’t too many Stacked Compressors around, and especially not in such a compact format. I know several players that can’t do without one of these on their board! It’s now more compact dimensions - will likely make it even more popular!
