Bleak District’s Phil has birthed another interesting combination / multi-fx pedal - which features a Full Range Overdrive, Multi-Wave Tremolo, and Belton Brick Spring style Reverb - served by 3 vertical control sections.
Normally individual knob colours delineate different control sections - while in this instance they represent Primary and Secondary controls for each of the onboard effects - which as mentioned are arranged in 3 elegant vertical sections.
Controls - OVERDRIVE } Gain, Master Volume, Master Bypass, TREMOLO } Rate, Wave : Sine / Square / Saw, Depth, Tap Tempo, REVERB } Mix, Killy Dry, Damp, Reverb Bypass.
I might have chose slightly different knob colours and colour bands - in order to better demarcate each of those segments - while the current design does have a good logic to it too - I just like making things extra clear.
You can dial out the Drive (Gain), Tremolo (Depth), and Reverb (Mix), as well as easily bypass the Reverb - so you have controls to fully regulate the impact of each of those effects.
You can get some really cool sort of lo-fi fluttery effects by setting each of those segments relatively low - delivering ultimate texture - without particularly getting in the way of your music / playing!
Reverb and Tremolo have always been interesting bedfellows - as most easily illustrated by the Strymon Flint, and Keeley Verb o Trem - and this is another intriguing addition to that illustrious company.
The Wondertow Surfgaze Textualizer is another smart Bleak District creation which is singularly well-priced, and can be yours for just £245 and equivalent from the Bleak District Electric Webstore.
Phil always manages to add something extra - all his pedals are very smartly laid out and generally very easy to deploy! This one is well worth your consideration!
I still need to decide separately if it fully makes sense for my own board / pedal-chain! I think this will appeal to many!
