Key Points
Holy Island Audio’s Gwion unleashes the Blast Radius Oscillating Fuzz — visceral, unruly, and often in his 'Noise' camp.
Controls: Starve, Gain Stage 1, Master, Gain Stage 2, Blast (Gain / Oscillate), Gain Stage 3. Three independently selectable gain-stage toggles; three main knobs are Starve, Master and Blast.
It’s a runaway feedback oscillating fuzz where you "wrestle for control" — exhilarating for proper fuzz fans and likely to make some blues overdrive riffers nervous.
Available on the Holy Island Audio Webstore. As of 2026-07-13, the price was £135. It may be obtainable at the Glasgow Stompbox Social on 16th August; Gwion will be attending.
Holy Island Audio’s Gwion makes some incredibly otherworldly circuits. Often in the ’Noise’ camp, but always intriguing and uniquely brilliant. I am determined to do more to support his output - starting with his new Blast Radius Oscillating Fuzz.
Controls - Starve, Gain Stage 1, Master, Gain Stage 2, Blast : Gain / Oscillate, Gain Stage 3.
A very straightforward control topology - 3 main knobs - Starve, Master and Blast, and then 3 toggle switches for each of the independent gain stages - each of which hits a little differently and where they combine in interesting ways.
This is a somewhat runaway pedal as is usually the case for feedback oscillating fuzzes - this is an exhilarating fuzz pedal in the best tradition - where you are constantly wrestle for control.
Us proper fuzz fans love that aspect of feedback oscillation - but it makes some of those blues overdrive riffers nervous.
I always thought the Angel Teeth would be my first Holy Island Audio pedal - but I think this new one it the perfect jump-off point for me.
The Blast Radius can be yours for just £135 on the Holy Island Audio Webstore - which is quite evidently a bargain!
I will for sure be getting one of these - of course by budget for this month is long since blown - I will hope to pick one up at the Glasgow Stompbox Social on he 16th August - which both Gwion and I will be attending!
