Visually, Supercool’s Jamie takes from the same playbook as fellow Canadian Steve Demedash - borrowing inspiration from Sony’s 1989 Trinitron brand identity. Jamie’s styling is always spot-on - and here we have something that looks like a lost classic sort of from the early Mu-Tron era.
Supercool’s designs are always incredibly appealing - both the aesthetic and the functional aspects - which always gives you more than most equivalent pedals. They are generally super user-friendly and easy to dial in - including of course this very device.
Controls : Resonance (feedback), Rate (speed), Depth : 4 Stage / 8 Stage, 2 x LFO Modes (speed range effectively x 2), Dry Signal Bypass.
So your key controls are Resoance and Rate, and you can then step up to 8 Stage phasing, double the Rate / Speed of Modulation, and Bypass the Dry Signal Blend for a variety of different tones and textures.
There’s just 5 controls here - 2 x variable and 3 x binary push-buttons that give you a huge range of different phase sweeps - with several gears to help you level up!
This perfect blend of style and vibrancy is yours for just $219 USD. I have over 20 phasers already in my reference collection - but I’m seriously tempted by this one too! Of course available direct from the Supercool Pedals Webstore, and will likely appear on the UK-based Reverb.com Modesto Shop before long!
I’ve pretty much decided that I need this one in the collection too - and so will be having a quiet word with Jamie before long! I think a lot are gong to really enjoy this take on Phasing!
