This reminds me a little of Boss’s OC-5 - which has a similar feature where you can split off just the bottom strings for Octaver action - while the upper strings remain unaffected. The Dig Deep does a similar thing - with a few more parameters and features, and with 3 Presets onboard.
Controls - Dry [-1 Oct], Sub Mix [-2 Oct], Low Pass [High Pass], Ctrl 1 [Ctrl 2], Split (Split output across Out and Sub Out, [Ctrl III] / [Delete], Shift [Save], Wave (Wave Form) [Ctrl IV] [Scroll], Range [1st Harmonic], Presets I-III.
Ports - 9V DC [-] 200mA, MIDI In, Remote, TS In, TS Sub Out, TS Out.
This is a Monophonic Octaver - meaning it only does one note at a time - which happens to be perfect for delivering basslines - so you can supplement your melodies with some simultaneous bassline action - and the pedal divides out the strings which can be impacted by the octaves and which cannot.
You can also split the outputs here - where by default the Dry Signal and the Wet Activated Sub-Octave are blended on the single Out port. You can ’Split’ the ’Wet’ Sub Octave and send it through the Sub Out port, while then just the Dry signal comes out of ’Out’.
The various extra features elevate this well above the OC-5 (which retails at €149 and equivalent) where the Dig Deep MK3 is €240 from the OPFXS Web Store.
Would be interesting to evolve this effect to contain a synth voicings also - so that you end up with the ultimate Bassline creation pedal - with an incredibly depth of ability and variation!
There’s no doubt that OPFXS makes great effects, and this one is particularly strong - and especially if you’re wanting to deliver basslines where the upper strings are unaffected by Octaver action - really smart for sure. You will know if tis pedal makes sense to you - there’s certainly plenty to love here!
I think we only have a single demo to-date - as below :
