So the original editions of these have a black enclosure with a colour accent graphic, and matching colour knobs. Where here those accent colours saturate the entire enclosure and the accent colours and knobs are black - a sort of inversion really.

I’m not sure I would feel the need to buy the whole set again in this new livery - albeit I really like these new editions. Which of course include the :

  • Noble Screamer
  • Blues Disorder
  • Super Rodent
  • Angry Orange
  • MK3 Driver

I’ve covered all of those on this site multiple times - and so don’t feel the need to do separate overviews again - you can simply refer to my related articles.

I particularly rate the Noble Screamer, Blues Disorder, and MK3 Driver variants - those are all favourites of mine.

And all these are the same price as the standard versions - at $199.

If I were to acquire only one of these - it would most certainly be the Andy Timmons MK3 Driver.

Keeley Electronics is one of the few companies that manufacturers everything in-house - the whole production line - and thus is able to do these special editions with ease. There’s only a handful of companies that have this ability - including Jackson Audio and a few others. You can see by how freely they issue special editions of their pedals. There’s minimal tooling costs here - the artwork templates are the same, all the internals are the same - it’s just a different lick of paint essentially. In fact these are probably even lower cost to make - as you get the advantage of economies of scale - in only having the one knob variant to order in - versus the 5 different custom anodised standard knobs for each of those original source pedals.

Stocks are somewhat dwindling at the moment, but like Keeley’s Plasmaetic Purple Series - I would expect there to be a re-stock at some stage.

As long as there remains demand for these - Keeley will likely continue to make them! They’re referred to as more Custom Shop Special Editions rather than Limited Editions. There aren’t any specific limiting factors here - so there’s no reason that more cannot be produced. I guess these are targeting to those who still did not get around to buying one of the originals.

All 5 can be acquired direct from the Keeley Webstore - for $199 each.
