The latest incarnations of Thorpy pedals are gradually transitioning across to new MKII Artwork Editions - which feature entirely new artwork - with the side panels now also decorated. Inside, everything remains as was - these are the exact same circuits - where simply their outward appearance has been changed and is now more appealing.
The Field Marshal benefits from a ’Big Cheese’ landscape, and the Heavy Water features water droplets appropriately. The Main facia artwork is markedly different too!
This exercise started off with the Peacekeeper, Gunshot and Warthog - announced at the start of last month. Then we had the viking long boat on the sides of the Purple Dane, and now we have the 5th & 6th variants within that exercise. I believe the aim is to refresh the whole series by the end of the year - or thereabouts.
I do feel these are aesthetic improvements over the originals - and usher in a more maximalist style - where the simple line artwork of the formerly brushed steel enclosures - has now been wholly relegated and relinquished to history!
Of course in this phase my favourite Heavy Water Dual Boost - has been further beautified - and I may just need to snag one of those at some stage - otherwise I don’t feel the need to double down - until we have another one that’s as attractive and as appealing as the Purple Dane!
The sound, feel and function are identical to the predecessors - so you don’t need to ’upgrade’ - unless you really love the look of one of these new varieties! Everything else remains the same - including the pricing!
All Thorpy pedals are of course available right now from the ThorpyFX Wesbtore, and at leading international dealers!
